Best DVD Cataloging Tool for Vista MC?

I can't seem to find a good answer via search - I'm sorry for the re-post:

Could someone recommend a DVD cataloging tool where i can browse, view cover art, meta data, etc all from the MC interface (as well as play via extenders?

This would also be full resolution rips - no compression.

    Thanks!

By far the best, but also the most expensive and somewhat tedious to setup though. (IMHO)

The best solution right now is MyMovies. It is free, yet is the most robust solution for your needs.

How does My Movies actually work.  I'm new to the whole process, but I just finished copying a DVD using my movies with folder structure to the location: Public\Public Videos\"filmname"\Video_TS.  Everything copied OK, however when in Media Center and I select My Movies then the film to play, all I get is a black screen.

I'm not interested in breaking copy protection, just want to make a HDD copy of my DVD's to play in media center

Thanks! Testing this now! Ripping the first DVD. Looks like exactly what I was looking for!

MyMovies backend with MediaBrowser for a front end is one tough act to beat right now.

Ouch. I got about 10 disks ripped then I tried my XBOX as an extender... No luck.

Any way to get this to work?

To play them on the xbox you can't have them in DVD structure.
You'll have to break the encryption and copy the main movie to another format (ie. DVR-MS, MPG, etc)

Thanks - this is what I have been doing. I converting all the VOBs to MPEG. This works well but you don't get chapters, cover art, etc...

So how would this work w/MediaBrowser for the front end?  The interface definitely looks better than MyMovies which I am using now.

You can play DVD structure movies in either Video_TS / ISO or MKV format on an extender using transcode 360. I am currently doing this and viewing on a Linksys DMA 2200 which work's great.

I also agree after a lot of testing MyMovies backend with MediaBrowser front end is the best all round solution I have found. The collectorz software is very smart but I found it very limited when using an extender.

Fortunately MyMovies also stores movie information in a XML file (smart thinking on Brian's part)  MediaBrowser is able to read this file.

Hold tight on the chapter skips, etc.

Open Media Library is in the process of getting this working and we hope to have it running soon....Once that is working I think you will see that this application is the best one out there, and it is FREE!
