Interesting remote issue can't program other remotes with it

My MS 1039 remote won't communicate with my surround sound universal remote. I was trying to put the funtions of the MC remote into my surround sound remote and it could not copy the signals over. Could this be another Microsoft protectionist scheme?

No, that can't be it. It's either the other remote or you're not doing something properly.

Well the remote that I have is part of my Pioneer Surround Sound System is seeing something but it says error when I try to program it. Maybe the 1039 remote for MC is sending out the main code and then a debounce code and my surround remote can't process two codes at once. I would think that if it sees two diffrent codes it would get confused. The problem is that I can't even program my other remote. The debounce is not an issue on the computer side until I can get my surround remote to store a code.
