    MCE 2005 REVISITED

    Dear all,

Would anyone be kind enough to go back in time and answer the following question?

I have enjoyed mce for all my tv/music/video/pics entertainment over the last few years and thought I knew enough to start from scratch again, well... I was wrong!

I don't often burn tv to dvd but, now that I want to I am getting get the famous message: 'unsupported file type'. I remember seeing a lot of posts about this issue after RU2 but never took any notice because 'I was alright thank you very much!'

Can anyone tell me if there was eventually a fix/patch sorted for this issue, or can anyone help with advice?

I now know how a lot of you felt after RU2! My sympathies.

Make sure all updates are installed, especially RU2. Are you trying to burn a dvd from in MCE2005? If so, you probably don't have the sonic encoders installed. Check it out

    Re: MCE 2005 REVISITED

Yes, I am trying to burn a dvd from within MCE. I do have the relevant updates installed including sonicencoders.msi.

Does the correct file type depend on the correct decoder being selected in deccheck before recording tv programmes? Should I systematicaly select different ones, record a tv show and try to burn?

    Thanks for your help
