I posted this is general, but never got a reply - obviously the wrong section.  Let's try here.

I cant figure this one out.  I record Two and Half men which airs locally in HDTV (ATSC) on ch 1111. So I have a series set to record Two and Half men on ch 1111, All airings (first run/re-run), Any time.

Ok fine.  So my wife decides she wants me to record the syndicated version too, which comes on one or more independent (SDTV/NTSC) channels locally... So I set another series to record Two and Half men on any channel, any time, all airings (first run and re-runs)

So now whats happened somehow is, the media center is recording the SDTV program using BOTH NTSC SDTV tuners...? Its recording the SAME AIRING, at the same time -  I get it TWICE.  (ie: 8/15/08, at 8pm on channel 9 (which is standard def ntsc), so here comes the show at 8pm.. Now my dual ntsc tuners BOTH record the same episode at the same time) and to clarify - its the sdtv tuners, not one in sdtv and one in hdtv. both are sdtv on the analog ntsc tuners.

I have NO CLUE what to do.  Did I do wrong adding the second two and half men entry? I was trying to make sure it ALWAYS records the HDTV version when it airs, incase there is a conflict - I didn't want the HDTV entry to accidentally record SDTV version airing on CH 11 (instead of digital CH 1111)

Remove the 2nd rSeries recording. 

Then find the show in the guide but make sure you select it from the HD channel.  Click on it.

Then click Record Series

Then edit the Series settings and specify the specific channel you want it to record on.

If this is happening on a regular basis on other programs and you are using IR buds to change channels on the SD you may find the the IR signal is changing both of the set top boxes...  A small piece of foil in between the set top boxes or some tape over the the IR buds should fix it, if it turns out to be the issue
