Not able to record series with TV-Pack

    Not able to record series with TV-Pack

    1.       CountryCode
    norway

    2.       PostCode
    1339

    3.       ServiceType (cable, sat, ota)
    Cable (DVB-C)

    4.       ServiceProvider (name of service provider)
    CanalDigital

    5.       IssueType (list one)

    Show listings are incorrect (bad times, bad information, etc).

    6.       Description (this includes what you’re seeing, and what you’d expect to see)
    Wrong data for series. The "Record series" button is missing for a lot of programs. This happens with TV-pack 2008 only, not with VMC w/o TV-pack

    Some of the shows that worked fine before TV-pack are:
    1. "Nyheten og Sporten" on TV2 Norge (daily news, several times a day)
    2. "Two and a Half Men" on TV3 (around 18.00 every day)
    3. "Numb3rs" on TV2 Norge (Thursdays at 22.30)
    4. "That '70s Show" on TV2 Norge (around 17.30 every day)
    There are more errors in the guide, so I think in generall the guide should be quality assured. Some shows, however, have the "Record series" button. Even som movies have the "Record series" button which is definetly not correct.

    Pretty much every series i've tried won't give you the option of recording the series. This includes match of the day and masterchef. A series that i had before installing the tv pack also records the ch4 and ch4+1 even though i've asked it only to record the first. The series is come dine with me. I'm using freeview in the uk

    I have not heard back from the content provider yet on this issue.  I would bet it will take about a week to make the needed changes in your region.  TV pack uses different logic for identifying series and it appears that none of the series have the correct id flags.

    ok ..  Content provider is reporting that series should have correct identification for TV pack installs.  This change will be in tomorrows feed so should be available to end users by end of week at the latest.

    Please let me know if you continue to see series recording problems after guide is updated.

    It certainly seems to be alot better with the majority of series being flagged as such but there are still omissions. Match of the day and masterchef to name 2. Does the provider believe it all to be fixed now?

    It still appears that we (UK/DVB-T) are still getting an issue with programmes where we have a channel+1 setting. Yesterday, for example, there was a 2 hour movie on. The movie recorded fine for the 2 hours. However, there was a second recording of the movie on the +1 channel for an hour. The annoying aspect of this is that if you have a recording that was scheduled the second recording takes priority over it.

    No changes in the guide yet. :(
    I downloaded the latest guides and checked a lot of series, but almost none are flagged as series. Some more examples in addition to the earlier mentioned are:
    • Wallander on TV2 Norge at 21.40 (mini series, 2 episodes)
    • Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles on TVNorge at 22.50
    • 71º nord on TVNorge at 20.00
    • Silke on TV2 Norge at 00.20
    If the content provider thinks this issue has been solved, then I guess they need better Quality Assurance.

    I am having this same problem too on DVB-T in the UK with TV Pack.  It was specific channels with the problem but could not work out why until this post mentioning the +1 channels.  All the issues I have are with channels with a +1 equivalent and the record series option is missing completely.

    If someone could provide details of the programs that have this issue, along with your headend, postal code etc as requested in the posting template, I'll be sure our team investigates with the provider and get these resolved.

    Preferrably if you have examples in the future we'll be able to identify the problems easier and push for resolution.

    Chris, I appreciate your effort on fixing these issues.

    When should I expect the series I have reported to be corrected ? There are a lot more. I surely hope I don't have to report every series, as that would be a full time employment.  ;)

    This must be a more general issue, than just a few series not beeing flagged as series.
