My provider is U-verse, whose STBs go into standby after 8hrs of inactivity. The require an OK keypress to wake, and will not take any commands from MCE until that happens. I've tried selecting the option of sending ENTER after each channel command, but that doesn't seem work, even though I taught it the OK button when it asked for ENTER during the TV setup. The simple solution is to schedule 1 minute manual recordings for all tuners at once every 6-8 hours. The creates a lot of clutter with manual recordings everywhere. I have them all automatically deleted, but they still hang out in the Recorded TV list for a while after the files have been taken out.
I would like to use a 3rd party program to send an OK to the STBs every few hours without Media Center needing to interrupt TV with these manual recording channel changes. Can I do this with MCEIR? Can anyone tell me how I might get started with learning the OK button from the Uverse remote and transmitting that to the STBs on a regular schedule?
