    eHome Infared driver

I have install MCE 2005 but I can't get my HP Media Center remote to work with MCE 2005.

Where can I get the driver for the MCE 2005 to recognize the remote?

I am trying to avoid the Windows update rollup 2....

    Thanks...

    Re: eHome Infared driver

Sorry, the eHome IR driver updates were part of RU2; best of my knowledge, MS never broke them out.

Question:  why wanting to avoid RU2?  On a clean installation, you're more likely to have problems not installing an update.
I'd suggest giving Accident's MCE2k5 installation guide a read, if you haven't already done so.
And, some real-world advice:  even if you previously had issues that seemed to stem from a specific update, install it anyways.  The previous issue was most likely caused by some odd-ass incompatibility in the 'old' Windows installation (usually some software that you had installed conflicted with the update), and most likely will not occur when the update is applied to a clean system.

You have to have RU2 and that other USB/mouse/keyboard update from windows update optional.

    Re: eHome Infared driver

    Run Windows Update.
    Click 'custom.'
Among the many 'optional' updates, you'll see an update for the MS eHome receivers.  Really, you should probably select all of the optional updates, as quite a few of them will pertain to Media Center.

A question:  you did install all of your motherboard-chipset drivers after you reinstalled Windows, yes?  Not doing that would also cause this problem, as you would lack USB controller drivers...
