Re: UK - Series Details missing

Hi, did you have this data error before upgrading to TV Pack?

I ask because I've started looking for bits to upgrade to TV Pack myself from MCE2005, and on my setup with Virgin Media the series info for this programme is working fine. Obviously I don't want to take a step back by upgrading.

Re: UK - Series Details missing

    See this thread: http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/285292.aspx

Does seem to be a problem with series data with the TV Pack.

Re: UK - Series Details missing

Yes it is a TV Pack problem, i an a few others on dvb-t and dvb-s are having the same problem, seems like it may be related to the new in-line guide data system, though changing the guide source to be the downloaded epg doesn't seem to fix it.

I have experienced in on BBC One, BBC Three, E4, More 4 to mention a few, it seems to mostly effect programs that are weekly rather than a couple of times a week.

Very odd, though i guess we are going to be told it's due to us running unsupported software at the mo, though i guess it will need to be sorted by the time the OEMs start shipping systems with the Tv Pack, though i guess this may be via an update that we may or may not get. I am unsure as to how media center updates will work now that it has been forked.

Maybe one of the kind gents at MS could enlighten us?

    Cheers

    Gareth

Re: UK - Series Details missing

Thanks gazzer82. I really want to upgrade to TV Pack, but this is a showstopper for me. Series records are used all the time in my household, I can't afford the earache from this breaking.

I could kinda understand it if using the in-band EPG, but not using the downloaded guide as surely that's the same as pre-TV pack?

Re: UK - Series Details missing

What is the status of this issue? Has anyone managed to get a fix for it or successfully change their guide data back to download?

    Thanks

Re: UK - Series Details missing

I to am having the same problem. I'm not sure if I should revert back to pre TVpack to get back my series record or stick with the TV pack with the much better guide and interactive buttons

Re: UK - Series Details missing

    Hi Guys

The issue with the TV pack verses series record is due to the way we identify series (no more fuzzy logic).  I am working with the content provider to get this straightened out.  I will keep you posted.

    Thanks

    J

Re: UK - Series Details missing

What was the reason for removing the fuzzy logic? Series record seemed to work so well before. :( Now its useless.

Re: UK - Series Details missing

Oh well at least us Gamma testers will have caught all these little bugs before they hit consumerville, how convenient that a leaked final release with lots of bugs still to be found accidentally found its way here ;)

On the fuzzy logic front it does bring to mind the old adage, if it aint broke don't fix it!!

Re: UK - Series Details missing

I'm not sure everyone would agree with you on that gazzer. Though I do realize there are new issues to resolve with the data we receive, it will increase the quality of our data vastly.

As for your reports driving the resolution, I would never say that they are not a great source for finding problems, however many of these issues have been identified and we have been working very hard with our provider to fix them for some time. We do however escalate issues reported here immediately so we can try and fix any issues poeple are currently seeing.

Thank you as always for posting your findings as we continue to do everything possible to make the EPG more reliable and accurate.
