    NAS Media Server

Hi, I'm interested in getting NAS media server to serve different PC's, HTPC's and also a PS3 around the house - I know nothing about these and was wondering if there were any experts here who could make some recommendations based on my requirements...

    1. Ideally it needs to be an enclosure than can accept any 3.5" SATA HDD.
    2. It could do with being as cheap, as small and as quiet as possible (it only needs to take one HDD)
    3. Being able to switch it on and off remotely would be a bonus (maybe I'm asking for too much here?)
    4. Nice stylish slim design.

    Can anyone help?

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Re: NAS Media Server

there are a lot of NAS systems that meet your criteria. F.e. NetGear ReadyNAS, QNAP TSx09, Synology diskstation. And if it has to be really cheap, look at Linksys NSLU2 or Lacie.

Most of these systems power down the harddisk(s) when not in use, so why would you want to switch it off remotely ? )
