I am seem to be reading conflicting reports on whether vista media center is able to equalize volumes. For some reason, my Fox channel is really quiet, so I have to jack up the volume, but then when i change it back to a regular channel, the volume is way to loud, and I lunge for the remote to turn it down.

Is there an automatic volume/loudness equalizer in vista?

I don't think it's in the RTM/SP1 release of VMC. If that helps.

You could try rendering audio through FFDShow-Tryout, and let that do the normalisation for you.
