    Fiji next month (July)?

I've been keeping an eye on a thread about a dual DVB-S/DVB-T tuner (made by BlackGold) which at one point I was thinking of getting (ended up getting a Pinnacle card instead).  However, just got back from holiday and was reading some new posts here...

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=672054&page=31

The interesting part is a quote someone have given from BlackGold about their driver support...

"As the current driver operates with Fiji 32/64bit supporting both DVB-S and DVB-T we have no immediate plans for providing a 64bit virtual driver for the current version of Vista. Please be advised that Fiji is the next major release of Vista Media Center scheduled for release next month."

So is it likely that we will now be seeing Fiji as soon as next month?  If so I can't wait so hopefully I will be able to stop using 2 separate applications for DVB-S and DVB-T plus get HD broadcast support.

Does a July release look likely?

    There's no chance.
Even the most optimistic predictions seem to point to October.

I don't know about next month, but I found something that probably is the beta:
    http://www.thevista.ru/forums.php?m=posts&q=12444

I installed it to my Vista Ultimate 32-bit and it allowed Vista to recognize my cablecard (DVB-C) as a ClearQAM. I also noticed teletext support, DVB subtitles and DVB-EPG support. Those are some things I've been waiting for. There are still some probs with channel search and switcing between tuners, but it definately is a big step forward.

My only drawback was that the WebGuide-gadget stopped working as it tries to access the database or something with the old version number. I loved the gadget but I'm still going to keep the update.

Don't know which standard is used here in Finland, but yes it comes via digital transmission. On a Finnish discussion board someone said it probably was MHEG.

Edit: Wikipedia says that DVB-MHP has been tested in Finland.

That file looks legit, but it is old (april), there is a mention of RC0 in the thread, but no download link.

    Re: Fiji next month (July)?

I have heard from multiple sources that they received a notice from MS stating that the OEM's were promised a tuner update in July. Now whether this ends up being "fiji" is anyone's guess, but the features they did state were good ones, but not h.264 or DirecTV.
