    Re: VMC:EPG Listing Issue

    Hi bderry71

I don't list a tbs or toon in the dish682 headend.  It appears TBSHD replaced TBS and currently shows 13 days of guide data and TOOND has replaced TOON and has 13 days of guide data.  Can you let me know if you are still experiencing this issue.

    Thanks

    J

    Re: VMC:EPG Listing Issue

I managed to rebuild my EPG which made it work for about a day. Then when I went in last night it was showing no data again. So I checked the trace log and it was still not finding the HMS folder. I figured that it would have created that folder if it needs it. So I created the folder then rebooted the machine. Now it is working again. Don't know how long that will last.

As for the HD listings. I noticed that an update came down where the guide was updated with shared channel listings related to DishHDs lineup. Since I don't have access to the HD feeds yet. I have been switching it to the older feeds that are sharing the same channel as the new feeds. I guess on your end you need to mirror the feeds as the SD version hasn't gone away it's just sharing the channel with the HD version.

As for TOON and TOOND those are totally different channels. TOON is Cartoon Network while TOOND is Toon Disney. One did not replace the other.

Also I noticed this morning when I was looking for the SciFi Channel that it was gone from the Guide. So I went in under the Edit channels screen and it was selected for viewing, but it wasn't showing. I toggled it then save out then it was back in the guide. I've had some of my channels do that. That seems to be a bug in the guide.

Also there are blank entries in the Edit Channel screen which have the same name as the one that was replace by the shared versions. I assume that is where the problem is as your system seems to have orphaned the old channel definitions when the new shared ones were implemented.

Waiting for an update to fix these bugs.

    Thanks,
    Ben

    Re: VMC:EPG Listing Issue

The exact same thing has happened to me about 3 days ago, USA, sci-fi, tbs, tnt, and few others.  I also am on dish network.  When I look at the edit channels menu, USA for example, there is USA, USA HD and a USA listing with no channel number.

    Re: VMC:EPG Listing Issue

I switched mine over to the HD channel listing the other night, so far I still have guide data.  I am still curious as to what the channel without a channel number is for.

Edit: That only last a couple of days, had to switch them again today.  So now every 2-3 days losing guide data.

    Hi cearly

Most likely an error.  Outside chance of a national channel.

    Thanks

    J

    cearly,

If you feel the posted issue isn't covering your problem, please start a new thread. It becomes very difficult to manage items when threads are doubled up.

We will continue to investigate the originally posted issue.

    Re: VMC:EPG Listing Issue

Thanks Chris, I believe that I am seeing the same issue as the original poster.  Would you like to see a screenshot of the edit channels screen that we are talking about?

    Re: VMC:EPG Listing Issue

For the time being, let me be sure the original issue is addressed and we'll see if more information is required. I'll follow up with "J" on Monday to be sure he has enough information and post back here. I'll loop back with you after this is resolved and see if you're issue is fixed with this one.

If not, you're welcome to post a new thread for us to follow up on.

    Thanks!

    Re: VMC:EPG Listing Issue

It happened again today. I had reset the shared channels back to their SD versions and my guild is showing "No Data" again. The reason I switched it, is I don't have HD and I saw a commercial for 'Burn Notice' on USA and that channel was one of the ones not showing data. So now I can't record it if it doesn't know when it's on.

The problem seems to be on your end. Mirror the data and remove the orphans. And keep it in sync. If there needs to be an update for VMC then do it.

I manually ran the update channel data command and checked the time on the VMC machine. It was on time.

I don't know other than rebuilding it again. Which is a real pain as I have to filter out most of the channels as they are not part of my subscription. I shouldn't have to rebuild this thing ever.

    Thanks,
    Ben

    Re: VMC:EPG Listing Issue

I ran the "Set Up Guide Listings" wizard and it reset my entire guide database. After resetting everything up, it seems to be working for now.

    Steps:
    1) Run Set up Guide Listing. Wait for it to finish.
    2) Go to Guide. Notice that is says No Data for all channels and it prompts for it to download the guide data.
    3) Waited for a while and then since nothing happened I rebooted. Now I have the guide again.
    4) Then re-setup the guide the way I had it before, i.e. remove channels that I'm not subscribed to and such.

    That's it.
