Hi all,

I'm kind of new here and was wondering if anyone has any idea about solving the problem I'm facing here...  When I bought my PC it was equiped with an XP media center OS and thus came with MCE remote.   Not long ago I upgraded it to a Vista Business version (mostly because I wanted to try it and it was free for me too). 

Anyway, I've installed 'MediaPortal' to replace media center but is there a way to make the green button on my remote lauch MediaPortal instead of being so useless right now?  All other buttons (at least those that I've used) in the remote function normally once MediaPortal is manually launched.

I know that ehTray.exe is used in Vista Home Premium and Altimate to monitor the remote's functionality, and I guess this application doesn't even exist in the Business version.  So is there any third party application that mimics ehTray that may be launched with the system's startup to listen for the Green button and launch MediaPortal?

My Ten Foot suite, available for free at www.SeeITA.com/TF, includes a launcher that can run any given command in response to the green button.  The Ten Foot products are not media centre-based so will run fine alongside MediaPortal (and several users do that already).  You can't prevent media centre responding to the green button but, since you don't have it installed, that won't be a problem for you.
