I installed it yesterday, seemed to work ok although I only tested it a little and only with the media player plugin.  I have a Treo 700 with WM5.

its does not have any  control over MCE, which sucks.....

but it does have some functionality for WMP

I have a ATT tilt and it works alright....

they need more and better gadgets, maybe now since WM phones and PDA can assess the service more developers will make gadgets

if it had good control over MCE i would but a WM pocketPC just to use as a slideshow remote....

Yeah there's only a SideShow gadget for WMP11 at the moment, there are rumors of a Media Center SideShow gadget in internal beta at MS, I am waiting for the public release of this gadget like many others.

Same here can't wait to see a Media Center Sideshow gadget.  I'm really surprised to see how long it has taken to provide sideshow software for Windows Mobile.

Anyhow I'm really crossing my fingers that this spurs development.

Just installed Sideshow Dev Prev on Windows Mobile 6.1.  No problems at all, the WMP gadget is functional, but the interface and layout leaves alot to be desired.

Since the WMP gadget is geared towards music playback.  I much prefer the method I have been using.  I use Remote Desktop to connect to the system, and use the actual Vista Media Center interface on the Windows Mobile Remote desktop session (via wireless)  to control music playback, and even show slideshows of pictures on the Windows Mobile Device. (no good for video obviously).

Should mention that the Remote Desktop client included with Windows Mobile 5.x is nowhere near as capable/compatible with Vista as the Windows 6.x remote desktop client.  Just my 2 cents.

did you do the multiple user hack for RD or are you kicking the logged on client of the Vista machine off when you log in?

can VMC be run 2x on the same machine with the RD multiple session hack?

Yes, Multiple User Hack, therefore I don't kick out the logged on client.

Yes, I believe you can run 2 instances of VMC on the same machine, but can't think of a reason you would want to, other than using the guide to choose something to record, VMC uses the default sound output which is a global setting.  So you would be getting sound from both sessions out the same output.  Which would make it difficult to enjoy media on both sessions.
