Record in HD TV then watch on an older TV

I am thinking about pulling the trigger on updating my Windows XP Media Center to Vista and move my cable from standard into the higher definition stuff.

If I record shows in HD and watch them on HD television should work fine.  But what about my other 5 tvs in the house that are not HD tvs.  Can I still watch the HD recorded shows on a normal TV using a media extender outputing NTSC?

One would think you could since it is in a converted to movie file once it is captured on HD tuner.

Yes you will be able to watch it.  The extender takes care of everything for you.  If it is a 4x3 TV you will see black bars on the top and bottom just like if you were watching a DVD.  The picture quality should be better than DVD quality.
