    Best tweak ever (?????)

Has anyone tried this tweak? If so, what are your thoughts?

I think I did it about a year ago and noticed improvement in recorded TV, especially the faces of people (less bluring).

    Danno100:

"less blurring"  Was this with HD recordings?  I have not made the edit, but can't imagine the picture being any better in my current setup.   Maybe I'll give it a shot over the weekend.

For those that have done it; did you notice any drastic increase in size of recordings?

HD should not be affected... that is recorded directly from the stream and is not encoded in any way.

Analog, on the other hand should see the improvement as described, but based on the "tweak" I'd think it's for live TV only. Changing the profiles for recording quality (good, better, best) would more likely improve the scheduled recording, but I'm only speculating on that -- I'm not aware of the keys to change.

That being said, I'd expect the buffer file size to increase if that value is increased.

I tried it last night, and didn't really notice any big change, although my current picture is pretty solid.  Maybe I just didn't notice due to being satisfied with my current picture quality.

This tweek has been around for a couple years... it does improve anolog but does nothing to digital or HD (of course).  I think its good, but not the best... heck I hardly watch anolog anymore at all.  Buy a HD Homerun, it rocks.
