The Daily Show in the UK

    Hi,

The EPG data for The Daily Show with John Stewart has gone wrong in the UK.

VMC now thinks that each daily episode is a repeat of the same show and so will only record one; a Series |Recording ignores all subsequent showings.

This error has been introduced only recently, it used to work fine.

I'm on Freeview postcode BA10, and The Daily Show is nightly on More 4.

    Hi sanderton

In the current guide for UK I don't see any of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" listed as series.

    Thanks

    J

Re: The Daily Show in the UK

It's on every day at 8.30pm on More 4, different showing every night. Next showing is tomorrow night.

Or do you mean that it's not listed as a series but as repeats of a single show? That is indeed the problem!

Re: The Daily Show in the UK

I concur. I also get this problem, although it started over a month ago (or more)  for me.

At first I thought it was a problem with my recordings file or something, but after a clean install of Vista SP1 on a new hard drive, I noted exactly the same behaviour.

At the start of every week I now have to set individual recordings for the Daily Show.... series record just doesn't stick.... and I can't miss Jon.... you crazy Americans... I laugh out loud every show :)

Series record works for every other series.... it just doesn't like Jon!!

Re: The Daily Show in the UK

It's an EPG data issue; either each show is tagged as being the same episode, or the flag which marks it as being an episoc series is set to false. (I'm guessing on the latter; I know TiVo's guide data works that way).

    Hi

It appears that every showing is marked as the same episode.  I will contact the provider and see if we can get this fixed.

    Thanks

    J

The Colbert Report on nightly at 11PM FX (SKY UK channel 270) is experiencing the same problem.

Re: The Daily Show in the UK

    Same thing in Denmark:

"The Daily Show" is on twice daily on DR2. Nothing is recorded and hasn't been since April.

If I do a search for the daily show, it finds all the episodes, but stupidly claims "another airing was already recorded" for every single one.

    You can confirm it here:

Did you get it fixed for UK? I ask because I'm curious to see whether there is any point in reporting these things.

    Hi

It appears BDS has identified the issue and this should be correct in all markets by July 1.

    Thanks

Re: The Daily Show in the UK

    Hi,

    Denmark, DR2 Daily Show.
I've earlier reported the issue with not being able to use the series function. So far I have manually been going through the guide search and maked each daily show for recording.
I tried to this as well today, but now VMC will crash and restart.

Could this be related to the fix made by BDS?

Re: The Daily Show in the UK

This fix isn't anything that would cause your system to crash at all. There was no fix sent down to the client. When we talk about fixes in the CSISE world, we're generally talking about data changes only.

In this case, it was simply changing how the program was marked.

I'd suggest starting a new thread possibly in one of the other forums, possibly the TV team. :)

Re: The Daily Show in the UK

thanks for the clarification. i'll start a new thread and will collect some information from my systems "problem report" application as VMC is really acting funny all of a sudden with tons of crashes related to guide viewing and it's also affecting my recordings now. Weird.
