TEK:Jup, and I'm still wondering about this, so if anyone know it, please share the info...
There is a file that contains this information, but I have discovered that backing it up and restoring it after a fresh install doesn't work.
It seems that this information is either encrypted somewhere or hidden in the registry somewhere.
Unfortunately the only solution I've found is to manually write down all of the ~500 channels we get, along with any mapping corrections and then manually use Media Center to go through all of this after a fresh install. It takes me about an hour every time I install Media Center to get the right channels set up for the guide.
Microsoft, if you are willing; please provide some sort of Media Center backup capability that allows us to migrate our settings from an old install/Media Center PC to a new install/Media Center PC.
The other thing that needs to be done is there needs to be a much more efficient way to edit the channels. Right now we have to manually scroll through 100's and 100's of channels, just to get to the higher numerical numbers (say for example a new channel 865 shows up, but we don't get it). We should be able to type in a number and jump there as an absolute minimum.
