Help wiith Vista MC and avermedia card: Where is this AVer_ClearQAM files I keep hearing about?

I'm running the 180 Avermedia card and just found a thread on Avermedia_ClearQAM files. Where are they?

    Please provide a link.

    Thanks.

You know, there is a search feature for the forums on here :)

Check middle of that thread, it wouldn't hurt you to start a bit furter back and follow the threads, it most likely will answer the questions you will otherwise ask.

They don't work with the A180 card (unless there is something I don't know, and yes, if they do, I want a copy), I think it's for the M780 card, if I correct.

I did try the clearQAM with the A180 card, and it did seem to find channels when it did it's seach and would add them to media center's guide but, when I tuned to them, it would just give a black screen, no sound or video.

If someone quotes them to work with the 180 card, could you give me a link on where it's said ? (I created a post here but, it didn't seem like anyone had interest)

Ok, I had to try with the A180 card. No luck. I did find the AVer_ClearQAM files, on my own. ftp://ftp.aver.com/ for anyone else reference . This solution appears to be for just the M780 card. The A180 card is only a digital single channel and as such isn't recognized by Vista MC.

When I tried this, I went as far as attempting to hack parts of the M780 QAM driver into the A180 driver. Got a few of the files to register under the a180 but, it still would not work. After a handfull of blue screens, I gave up and installed the default driver. I battled with this for a night or 2, trying anything I could attempt to get any channels to show up, never a bit of sound or even a flash of video.

Oh, well. If you want QAM under VMC, HDhomerun or M780 is the only way to go right now (I have a HDhomerun for my HTPC, well worth the price). Word is on the next version of Media Center, there will be QAM support but, you might have to wait a while.
