    Creating new Video view

Hi there all. First of all...a warning that I am completely new to this forum and what I am about to try and do.

Basically I have been using MCE 2005 for some time now and there are a few things I don't like. The main one is the way video files are organised. I would like to try and turn it into more of a database driven list as apposed to the flat file format it uses currently.

So what I want to know is can I replace the default Videos screen? I have been looking at the SDK and from what I can tell I can add views to the "More Programs" section but I don't think I can replace a menu entirely.

Anyway, just thought I would see what people had to say.

    google up My Movies

maybe rather than trying to code something from scratch, it'll be what you're looking for

    Re: Creating new Video view

I liked the My Movies program but from what I could tell it only works on DVD's. I backup nearly all of my DVD's to avi format so they are ignored..... or am I wrong?

    wrong ;)

you just need to stick each avi in it's own folder, then as you add them to my movies, you point it at that folder

my movies is a fair bit of work to get up and running, but it's nice once it is.

(you can tell it was originally built around ripped DVD's)
