    Update Recorded TV after Standby

    Hi all,

I have problem with updating Recorded TV after standby.

I have a master VMC (Vista Ultimate with WebGuide4) runing 24/7 and doing all my recordings. I have also some other VMC's (Vista Ultimate) which have the Redorded TV path of the master VMC's  included in the WatchedFolder path. If I now put these VMC's into Standby and do some recordings on the master VMC I can't see these recordings on the VMC's when waking them up from standby.

If I restart them or just restart the services I can see the recordings.

Does anybody have a solution for this? I was thinking of a script which starts automaticly after waking from standby and restarts the service.

    Any solution?

    Thanks

    Hi Avatar1992,

have you tried using something like MCEStandby, that when you send your remote VMCs to sleep, closes down Media Center, then when you restart your VMCs, going into Media Center may then refresh the contents.

    Does that work?

    Hi Tony,

I'm not using any Standy tools, because I'm using my remote control to send VMC into standby. So there is no need to use MCEStandby.

    Thanks

    Hi Avatar,

Its possible to use MCEStandy without changing the standby details, other than getting MC closed down when you send your VMC to sleep.

What happens when you close MC and restart when there have been changes on your full time VMC, are the changes picked up?

    Hi Tony,

where can find MCEStandby for Vista? I can't find a Vista ready version.

I must admit I never treid to just close and restart MC, but I would think that should work.

But I don't what to do it manually.

    Thanks

Re: Update Recorded TV after Standby

    Hi Tony,

    that is working thanks again.

But there is only one issue left: When I restart my PC after I installed the Standby Tool. The Tool is not starting because Vista has this security issue and you to allow this by answering the Security Question. Do you also a solution for that?

    Thanks

Re: Update Recorded TV after Standby

    Hi,

I wonder if uninstalling the standby tool, then re-installing as an administrator would help - either that or turning off uac.  I've this turned off, and I think that saves a lot of problems ;-)
