Help. Until recently I had no difficulty recording any shows on any specific channels.

I'm using - MCE 2005 with Star Choice Satellite signal. (windows auto update is on)

Now I receive the under noted message on channels & programs that previously recorded just fine.

“Program” cannot be recorded. Restrictions set by the Broadcaster and/or originator of the content Prohibit recording of this program.

These programs record just fine on my VCR as well as my Star Choice DVR up stairs.

This problem is escalating to other channels. Last Sunday 7:00 p.m. I recorded Battlestar Galactica off of Space Channel through MCE 2005 to my hard drive just fine.

This Sunday, March 18th, the program failed to record with the following MCE message:

"Program could not be recorded. Restrictions set by the Boradcaster and/or originator of the content Prohibit recording of this program"

At this rate the recording capability of MCE will be totally lost very soon. This is a great loss. The program was a useful asset but without the record feature it's not worth the $$.

I don't care if it's the T.V. Broadcaster, the signal provider or Microsoft, but I paid for the ability to record T.V. shows through MCE and watch them at a later date.

Now I can't. <sigh>
