    "Mount/unmount/eject/Rip for dvd changers (like Sony's XL1B2)"

Anywhere closer to being able to make this process automatic for batch DVD ripping?

Edit: I see DVDDecrypterPlugin.dll, so I assume that means yes?

Re: MCEtilites v1.0 for XP/Vista MCE

Yeah, maybe automatic. However, it does require user input to click the "Start ripping" from dvd decrypter.

I'd have to investigate further. I am looking into the Nero API for recoding/transcoding using my software, automatically.

I'm also looking into integrating this into explorer, so the icon is in "My Computer"

Great job!  Batch DVD ripping is a very requested feature, so if you can get somewhere on that a lot of people who be very greatful (greatful enough to purcahse the software).

    I blogged about it here

I'm particularly interested in finding out if people who own multiple changers and Vista... Anyone out there doing Vista with multiple changers?

If people want to batch rip DVD Movies, what software do you usually use for that? Nero Recode, DVDDecrypter, DVD Shrink?

Wow, nice work! I don't want to hijack the thread, but what're the chances of being able to use the sony changer with DVD data discs with video content on them? As in, a data DVD with a bunch of WMV, MPEG, AVI other video files on it. It'd really be handy to have an MCE interface to these sorts of files. But I've no idea (yet) as to whether MCE would have even the most rudimentary abilities to let something like this happen. Is it possible or are there some unexpected impediments making it extremely unlikely?

Re: MCEtilites v1.0 for XP/Vista MCE

That's exactly what I wanted to create this software for. Data discs. Cataloging all the discs in the changer, and being able to search/mount any disc as needed.

It's in the works, but not just yet...

If you make an auto-ripper for this thing, I would love to be able to give a command line to my prefered ripping method, not some forced software that has an api.

Accident, I'd like to do that too. However, how is my program supposed to know when the dvd is done ripping, like when the program ends?

What are you using that has command line args for dvd ripping? Plus the ability to automatically close the software after ripping that disc?

Besides, that's the beauty of my software, is someone can write a plugin that can run anything with command-line arguments.

I'd probably call a bat file to do a few steps then close out the bat when done..  most ripping software has a command line ability, don't look for it.

but yes, assume the software will close when finished.  or offer both, api to software or command line.

Sure, you could do that. DVD Shrink, Nero Recode don't have command-line arguments.

Even DVDDecrypter has cmdline args, but it does not close automatically, and you still have to click the "Start Ripping" button thingy.

Rick has done a fantastic job so far developing this software. I know first hand that he has put many hours into it so far. Great job Rick!

As he stated in his first post, we have plans to integrate his software with DVDxml.com to provide the community with a better "One stop shop" and to make things quicker and easier. Rick and I will be working together to get this done.

    Keep up the good work!

Will this program have similar functionality as the MCDDVDID program?

If I'm not mistaken, this program will be replacing MCEDVDID.
