I am grateful that we now have some reference to the crediability of Fluid to refer new or confused forum members. This was a very informative post, and I look forward to doing business with this company in the future.
When we have a chance to get open feedback from aretailer who has some insight into the CES world we shouldnt look a gift horse in the mouth. Look at how well Ceton has formed a relationship with us on these forums, and their early posts could have easily been interpreted as advertisement. However, most people embraced them openly since they had insight into a produce we were eager acquire.

We want to pass along some good news and let you know that the Ceton InfiniTV 4 quad-tuner cards are now in production! Ceton personnel are currently overseas supervising the final assembly and testing process. We're sorry for the unexpected delays but many other companies were hit with parts shortages as we were, including Apple for the release of iPad and iPhone 4. Delivery of units will begin as soon as final testing and shipment from overseas have been completed. We'll update you shortly as soon as we can confirm an actual delivery date.
There has been much discussion and speculation in the community about the driver installation procedure. InfiniTV 4 will not come with a driver CD. Initially the driver will be downloaded from the www.cetoncorp.com website and installed by the user. We are working with Microsoft to integrate the InfiniTV driver into Windows Update so that it will be installed automatically when detected by Windows in the future.
Thanks for your interest and support!
Cheers,
The Ceton Team

Kaplah:Before everyone comes down on "complainers" on the forum remember it's been a long road to get Media Center to this point. Just a little over a year ago you needed a certified pc to even think of using cable card! It wasn't until some of the posters here figured out how to add it to all pc's that Microsoft added it to Windows 7. (Kudos for adding the feature instead of trying to squash it!)
It's understandable that people here (myself included) are paranoid that the InfiniTV 4 may not hit the market. How long were we all drooling over the HDPC-20 which never materialized?
Personally I applaud Ceton for getting this far, BUT I won't be buying the product until I hear people have received their preorders, and possibly not until I can find this product on the shelf. While I realize that will be a wait, my ATI DTV is working fine. :) I really don't understand the point you are trying to make. The tuners are in production, possibly on their way to the US, possibly already here. Some people already have them in their systems working. That is completely different from the HDPC-20 which was simply in development before it was yanked. Feel free to wait if it makes you feel better, but there is no way this product is not going to hit the market. And yes, I'd put money on that.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a long wait for you. Ceton has not officially announced any plans to sell this card after the pre-order period. However, there's a version of the card on Zones for $491.99. I have a feeling that once Ceton halts the pre-order phase, the card won't be sold for $399.96 anymore, and you'll have to pay almost $100 more for it. Don't hold me to that; it's just speculation. But keep that in mind as a real possibility. And remember, pre-ordering the card doesn't mean anything really. It just means your name gets put on a list to purchase the card at some later date in the future...kinda like a waiting list. Nobody has to pay any money until the card gets shipped.
I honestly don't see what sense it makes to wait. But to each his own.

I have no idea why there is a product on Zones called InfiniTV at $491.99, we certainly didn't tell them to do it. It doesn't even have a picture or description, just a title. I'll have to look into what happened but I am pretty sure it is a fluke. The normal product at zones.com which has the picture and description is still $399.96 (another number I don't understand, 96 cents?, we didn't specify that either).

That's good to know. I don't know if it matters, but compare the MFR number listed on both products.

I'd still pay top dollar for a HDPC-20 or 2..... Still Sad it was canceled :(
I'm in a area where cable stinks (7 HD channels besides locals), so the Ceton does not help me too much, sad to say...

The HDPC-20 would certainly be getting a long hard look from me if it were released. That was pretty bewildering as (from what I understand) it was pretty much fully developed. I'm looking forward to the Ceton card but not looking forward to dealing with Playready since I'm in a Time Warner area. At least we do have a nearly complete roster of HD channels, I think Comedy Central and DIY Channel are the only channels I spend any time on that TW hasn't picked up the HD channels for yet. Virtually everything else is in HD.

Must be nice...
Draco, HDPC-20, how ever....all I have in my area is cable or Sat, so a nice Native HD option would make me very happy. I would look into a HD-PVR or 3 but, the overlays from the box would drive me nuts....
Of course, I could just try to sell my home and move to an area with better cable...(trust me, I have thought about it a few times, trust me, it's just not the cable in my area but, that is for another discussion)

The phone calls I made were immensely satisfying: Qwest: Why are you canceling service? Me: Cableco has 50Mbps internet availble and you have 1.5Mbps DSL. DirecTV: What can we do to keep you as a customer after you move, you've been with us for 7 years now? Me: Ship me an HDPC-20 or 3. DirecTV: What's that? Anything else besides that? Me: Nope. DirecTV: What is Windows Media Center? <click>

Has anyone considered that Ceton is really just a figment of everyone's imagination and we are all living inside a computer program? I think this may be the case as 4 HD streams is just make believe to the average MC7 user. I also think Ceton may be working for Al Qaeda?
