W7 Home Premium Media Center don't play vob files and don't show up in movie library

I ripped my kids movies into my pc and used vmc to play them from the dvd library.  They showed up fine before and now after I upgraded they don't show up at all.  In addition, media center only plays the audio and not video. Any solutions?

I also have a digital copy of "Dark Knight" that plays fine in both Media Center and WMP, but it only shows up in the video library and not the movie library.  Any solutions?

    I'm using:

    64 W7 HomeP
    4 g ram

Can you provide the folder structure of the DVDs? And for the Dark Knight you've added the folders in both the Movie Library and Video Library? They have different watch folder settings.

    public/documents/dvd/annie/annie.vob

    public/documents/dvd/darkknight/dknight.wmv

I directed the movie library to public/documents/dvd (I done this by right clicking in the movie library section and added more locations)

    and it doesn't recognize it.

Maybe something should be done in the registry or a bad install? Don't know.

I'm not a fan of installing 3rd party software to fix this problem.  I used it fine in DVD library in Vista and I want to continue the experience using Movie library in W7.  In one of my older post I had a problem with a digital copy showing up in DVD Library and a team member assured me it would be possible in W7. I yet to experience this.

    Thanks for your help.

That folder structure should work fine, it does on mine. The default search depth is 3 levels so that isn't a problem. Can you try moving the folders to another location? I never use the default "My Videos" or "Public" common folders as WMP library has default handling for those folders that I find causes problems with Media Center. If you have a data drive try :\Movies\... and add that path to see if it picks it up.

Great! It worked. I moved my movies to public/public movies/dvd

I created the public movies folder and customize it as a video folder. Remove any excess files in the folder and just have the video itself and xml file for details on the movie. I directed the movie library to public/public movies/dvd and now all my movies show and plays fine.

     Thanks for your help.
