Ok, lets kinda start over here and let me give you guys some more details.
The computer is a custom built pc, the mother board is a Gigabyte MA78GM. I have installed the chipset drivers as well as all the drivers for the hardware. I have the latest drivers from AMD for my graphics card.
I have 2TB's of Hdd space, and 4GB of Ram. The cpu is a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000 2.6 Ghz. Vista Ultimate, SP2, with all of windows updates.
Before I decided to reformat and start over, I had no trouble with my Blu Rays converrted to WMV HD using Tmpgenc Xpress 4.0. They played fine on my VMC, and streamed fine over my extenders (360's).
Since the reformat, I have only installed drivers, and updates, I had not installed any additional codecs as everything seem to play fine with what was already installed. Other than the WMV HD video unwatchable choppy video (audio is great and plays continuous), all my DVD's converted to DVR-MS play smooth. I have noticed after futher testing that it is actually most if not all of my WMV HD files (Blu Ray rips), not just the ones that were originally VC-1. Looking at the Task Manager during VMC playback of the Blu Rays titles I notice my cpu is running at 90 to 100 percent constantly, which is not good at all. When I play my DVD rips, the cpu hangs around 20 percent which is much better.
I finally decide to install a codec package, I went with VistaCodecs_v547 by shark007.net. It didn't help the issue any, but didn't hurt it either. I also tried installing ffdshow_rev610_20061201_clsid with no luck. I think it's more than just a codec/decoder issue, but what do I know. I can stream the HD WMV's to my other slower vista computer, and they play just fine, other than I can't get no audio, but the video is smooth as butter.
I'm at a lost as to what would cause my cpu to go the the extreme during the playback of these videos. I only have a measly 42 processes running which is not much for VIsta.
