Sorry, when I say I go into My Movies, I meant I go into the standard Movies option in media center.

I believe this is fixed in W7 Build 7229.
    Do you Yammm?

I have a lot of HTPC related software "in-the-works". Some may never be completed, others will probably only be useful to a few...

The RC is build 7100. Build 7229 was leaked and is supposively very close to RTM.

I believe it is a W7 issue as I was seeing it previously, a slight flicker as it rebuilds the view. If you don't already have it enabled make sure to set Yammm to resize artwork as that significantly reduces lag from W7 Movie Library.

Btw, Depending on how many RAM you have and the speed of your system drive having a suitable (i.e. fast) ReadyBoost drive available can signfigicantly improve the speed of the library.

    Hi mikinho,

I also want to thank you for this great piece of software. It has safed me a lot of time collecting all the meta data and images for my movies. There are a lot of other similar applications and plugins available but Yammm is the best! I had some problems at the beginning with this GDI+ error but from one day to the other Yammm started downloading the movie covers on all of my test computers. Maybe it was a problem with themoviedb.org.

One thing that would be very nice if you could implement in future releases:
mymovies.xml has a field called "LocalTitle". Media Browser (and maybe also other plugins) are using this field to display the movie title in media center. It would be nice if this field could be filled in with the localized movie name. The Country could be set via drop down list in the Yammm config tool.

    Example for mymovies.xml file:
      <LocalTitle>Der Pakt der Wölfe</LocalTitle>
      <SortTitle>Der Pakt der Wölfe</SortTitle>
      <OriginalTitle>Le pacte des loups</OriginalTitle>

    Example for explorer folder name:
Le pacte des loups (2001) [Der Pakt der Wölfe]
    or:
Der Pakt der Wölfe (2001) [Le pacte des loups]

IMDB provides the "Also Known As (AKA)" names for each movie title:
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0237534/releaseinfo

    Thanks,
    Manuel

    Hi...

Im runnining this on my server...but im not getting it to show meta data... am i missing something.

It says something about needing a user name for MC 7, but the username of the MC is not in that list... only server admin.

    Thanks

Sorry Kanga, I should have been more clear.

You'll need to do a couple things:

1- On your HTPC you'll need to create shares for each user you want to have metadata for. The share needs to point to their DVD Cache Info folder. i.e. %appdata%\Microsoft\eHome\DvdInfoCache

2- On your server open YammmConfig and enter a remote username\password in the Library tab with an account that has read\write access to the share you just created

3- Again in YammmConfig under the Metadata tab add the shares you created in #1

I'll be creating a helper tool for configuring Yammm in this scenario.

Btw, I'll add this to the Yammm homepage as a FAQ\Manual entry.

Let me know if it works

Ok... ill try that... but step one has me confused... are you saying i have to share. %appdata%\Microsoft\eHome\DvdInfoCache on the HTPC then have the Yammm config point to it?

    Ill try that anyway

    Hi,

Sorry for being a little slow.

How can i get the metadata to show in vista?

    Do i need a 3rd party package?

Is it possible to get metadata in 'Video Library' ?

I'm running Vista 32bit with TV pack.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Can anyone advise please?

    Cheers,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

If you have Yammm set up to download 7MC Meta data then the 'Video Library' should show information when you click each video. You will need each movie in it's own directory for this to work correctly.

    Any issues, just post back.

Ok so this is what I have done.

I have shared the DvdInfoCache for the two machines using the domain admin as the user to be shared with.

I have pointed the config (Library Tab)to the physical movie store.

    X:\moives

Then added machine 1 and 2 to the same tab

    \\machine1\user1\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\eHome\DvdInfoCache

    \\machine2\user2\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\eHome\DvdInfoCache

Then used the domain admin as the Network Credentials.

I haven’t been able to test yet because I’m @ work... but let me know in the mean time if this sounds right.

    Thanks

    Hi,
Done this but i still don't see any movie information (metadata).  I can see YAMMM downloads the cover and renames the folders and video files.  he metadata is also being downloaded to temp/metadata/ *.xml.

I'm using Vista 32 with TV pack at service pack 2.

    Cheers,

    Hi Mark,

It seems strange that the MetaData is being saved to a temp folder as it should save to the main movie folder. That could be the reason MC is not reading the MetaData.

I've just checked in MC x86 (Vista 32) and it does indeed not show MetaData. I'm gonna setup Yammm to download ALL MetaData and see if that helps :)

I'll post back with the results
