    AT&T U-Verse and XBox 360

I am just curious if anyone out there is using AT&T U-Verse and their XBox 360 as a set-top box for it.  I thought I heard that when the MS Media Room software was launched that using a 360 as a set-top box was how the 360 was going to be able to fit into this scenerio.

This was the ultimate fail of 08.  One one provider launched (or was said to launch) this and that was in the UK.  I'm not sure if that even happened.

Wouldn't this be a win-win situation for AT&T and Microsoft.  One of the things I could see being a sticking point is "hardware-service locking".  We are all familiar with it in the mobile phone space.  My guess, is that AT&T would like Microsoft to lock the IPTV to their service and possibly get a kick back for content purchased from XBox MarketPlace.  In my opinion, that would be a mistake and too complicated.  Instead, I would suggest they create a special XBox Live Subscription to connect to AT&T's U-verse service.
