Re: Media Center hardware survey
I followed links from ChrisL's blog to Ian's blog and responded to the survey. Thanks for the opportunity guys!
I went back and edited the survey after post 1 here mentioned that we should only select "one pc". Curious about that!

Re: Media Center hardware survey
I just got my Intel Core i7 920 retail CPU and ASUS P6T Deluxe (non OC Palm) motherboard. So I'm going to want to test on that instead.
For what its worth, I hear there may be a public beta of Windows 7 as early as late Dec. Not sure I believe that though.

I hope everyone who is submitting the survey is including their TGB.com username. It's not required, but it's important. If you forgot to include yours, edit your survey and include it!

Re: Media Center hardware survey
Doesn't make much sense in having us sign up for the beta if a public beta is expected in a month or so. Methinks the public beta rumor isn't entirely true.
..or MSFT has some extra awesomeness in store for TGB beta testers. Like free Windows 7 Ultimate licenses when all is said and done.
I'm hoping for the latter.

If I remember rightly. Media Centre Edition was a separate beta from WinXP SP1, as was MCE 2005 and WinXP SP2, even Fiji and Vista SP1 were separate betas.
So it would make sence that Win7 and 7MC would be too.

Re: Media Center hardware survey
All,
I was and still am a WHS beta tester but have never tested for VMC. I have a dedicated Vista Ultimate connected to my TV and loads of media on the WHS server (about 200 movies, etc.)and elsewhere on my network so am interested in the MC Beta. Is it too late to take the survey now or participate in the beta? Do you think I would be considered or do I have to have a lot more experience on TGB to be able to be considered by MS?
I cannot find the link on MS Connect to the survey. I get to my Connect Dashboard but don't see how to take the survey. It is not in the Connect Directory anywhere that I can find.

Re: Media Center hardware survey
You know, its stupid that this survey limits you to 44100Hz or 48000Hz sampling rates. Many of us use 96 or 192kHz sampling rates.

Yeah, that was odd. Also a lot of the questions answers went from 'Never' to '1 to 5 times a week.' Tasks like burning cds, dvds etc I don't do every week, or never.
