    Re: PowerDVD in VMC Menu

    Do you Yammm?

I have a lot of HTPC related software "in-the-works". Some may never be completed, others will probably only be useful to a few...

    NBC Olympic Plug In

I have not see the new NBC Olympic Plug-in show up.  Any chance Menu Minder is blocking it?

No chance that I can see, unless you have blocked it on purpose.

BTW, the damned Olympic tile JUST popped up on mine, so now I have to delete it with MC Menu Mender...:-)

    MC Menu Mender - Error

I'm getting an error how can I resolve it?

I've just installed TV Tonic again to give it another try, but that moves the Web Media Plugin icon from the menu, so I am trying to use MC Menu Mender to sort things out, ideally I'd like the TV Tonic and the Web Media icons to appear on the Online Media menu in VMC.

What am I doing wrong? I've run MC Menu Mender as Administrator and I still get the error, tried it with VMC application closed as well.

    Please help.

    Thanks.

    MC Menu Mender - Error

An update to the above, I've tried taking ownership of the C:\Windows\ehome\ehres.dll and the ehres.dll.mui file in both C:\Windows\ehome\en-US and C:\Windows\ehome\th-TH as I have the Thai language pack installed as well.

I've tried changing the ownership to my own username and also to the administrators group but I still get the error shown in the above screen shot.

    Any ideas?

The http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au website appears to be down? So I can see the author's original instructions.

    Cheers

EDIT: I also ensured that no media center processes were running in task manager and I am running the MC Menu Mender application as the Administrator by right clicking the icon etc.

cw-kid, if you create a support package (via the about dialog in Menu Mender) and send it to me i'll take a look and see if I can work out what's going wrong.

I also just wanted to let everyone know that i'm working on supporting TV Pack 2008 in the next release (shouldn't be too long, depending on how much time I have in the next week or two).

Advent, many thanks for taking a look at my support pack, I have emailed the zip file to you.

Re: MC Menu Mender - Error

Version 0.4 of MC Menu Mender is now available from:

    http://rapidshare.com/files/137929141/MC_Menu_Mender_0.4.msi

    New features for this release:

TV Support Pack 2008 (Fiji) support
There are a few differences between the normal version of MC and Fiji with regards to menus:
    • It is now possible to move any built in menu item to any built in strip, regardless of where it is in the list. Also, pressing back to return to the main menu will now return you to the correct strip.
    • There is no longer a limit on the number of custom strips you can have.
    • It is not possible to disable built in menu items. Hopefully i'll have a fix for this soon.
    Changes for default Vista (non-Fiji)
    • It is now not possible to configure the menu in such a way that it will crash (by moving a built in item to a strip above the original strip for the item). When hovering over an item that has been moved from its original menu an arrow will appear showing the original strip for the item.
    • Fix for crash when a 3rd party application has no title.
    • Fix for certain cases where multiple 3rd party links are assigned to the same built in strip.
    Other new features
When configuring entry points, you can now specify keys that will close or kill the application. This will allow you to launch any application and close it again using the remote. To enable this, open the properties page for an entry point, make sure "Use wrapper" is checked, then check either "Close the program..." or "Kill the program..." (close asks the application nicely to close, kill will just make it die). You add/remove keys that will close/kill the app - if it's not working, click the add button and press the button on your remote that you want to kill the app - the corresponding key will be added to the list. You can also select both close and kill, so that you have a backup if the close key doesn't work.

You should be able to use this feature to set up applications like PowerDVD or other Blu-ray players to integrate nicely with MC, although I haven't actually tested with any of these applications.

Mikinho, I know you've recently developed something like this, so I hope you don't feel i'm treading on your toes or anything - I think yours has a few extra advantages anyway!

Hope it works for you all.

Re: MC Menu Mender - Error

Version 0.4.1 is now available from:

    http://rapidshare.com/files/139002198/MC_Menu_Mender_0.4.1.msi

    Changes are:

    • Full support for TV Support Pack 2008. This includes enabling/disabling all items/strips.
    • Added strips to represent auto play items for blu-ray and HD DVD. These strips can contain a single 3rd party item, and will be executed when a disc of the appropriate type is entered. I haven't been able to test these, so if someone could confirm if they work that would be great.
    • Several UI tweaks and bug fixes.
