I've been using the Pinnacle Pro-Stick 801e.  Using Pinnacle software I can pick up the QAM channels on my cable tv, but when I use VMC it captures the lineup channels but won't display any of the digital ones (my cable company broadcasts 2-99 analog then above that in digital).
I figure there must be a way to "clean" out the channels, and force a load of the QAM ones, but haven't found it yet.
Anyone figure out how to do this?  The closest help I've found is the AVerMedia posts.

Does anyone have the new revision of the board with the IR reciever as a mini-plug in the back of the card instead of the USB dongle?

My remote is acting crazy in 7MC, anyone else have this problem?

Yes, I do and am having the exact same issues. It's not the remote, as my harmony remote is causing the same behavior. I emailed Hauppauge and they said it might be the IR receiver cable. They sent me a new one, and it has the same problem. If I boot into win xp and try teh remote with WinTV program, it works fine. So, I'm thinking it is some sort of driver issue? Really a pain in the but!

    Re: Hauppauge 2250

its clearly a driver issue.  I have an email to them as well.

I also put a post on the hauppauge forum, but no one has responded as of yet.

I have 2 in the same machine, and tried both cables, and both cards.  same nonsense on both

i also have the USB dongle style revision in a different machine, and zero problems with that.

I just have a quick question. I ordered this card for my Win7 machine and have been reading through these threads. My one question is which driver to use and what is the newest. The driver from the Hauppauge main page is 27118, but there is also a 7.6.1.27091resign64 from the Hauppauge FTP site. Which one should I use on my Win7 pc?

Honestly, I've just been using the WHQL one available from Windows Update with absolutely no issues.

Edit:  Apparently it's 7.6.1.27086 on Windows Update... a little older, but it's working perfectly for me, so I'm going to stick with it.

As to your question, 27118 is newer than 27091.  However, I don't think Hauppauge is including the changelogs anymore, so I couldn't tell you what's different.

thanks for the quick reply. I will try out the 27118 first and see how it goes. My only worry now is that my split signal at the computer will lead to scanning difficulties.

    Re: Hauppauge 2250

I got my 2250 yesterday and everything is great! I have a Win 7 x64 system and pretty much did everything as written and I am very happy. Juts plugged in the card, scanned the channels, and then manually sorted through the QAM and edited the listings for all of them. Just took a little time to manually do it, but everything worked great and streaming to the 360 was flawless. I was worried about signal issues since my computer is the back of the house, which has a split signal multiple times, but it picked up every signal clearQAM channel that is available with no problems.

Also, I just looked at the FTP for Hauppauge and a new driver is out "090717_22x_7.6.27.27198.prerelease.zip." I am not going to mess with it yet, as everything is working fine for me.

Also, is there anyway to back up channel listings in case something happens so I would not have to re-edit all the QAM channels again?

Where is this FTP site for Hauppauge?

I've got the strange remote problems and I don't see that prerelease version of the drivers on their website.

    Thanks!

Hello all, I have re-installed my system, and cannot get the QAM to work anymore..

vista SP2+Tvpack.  I just cant remember if there was something I needed to do.. Instead of searching through these 50 + pages, does anyone know off the top what I have to do to enable QAm on a 2250 in a fersh install?

using drivers from hauppeage, not windows update.

    Thanks

    Re: Hauppauge 2250

make sure you have the most recend driver installed, and make sure you do not have wintv installed, it interferes sometimes.

when you run the signal setup in mc, make sure you select "cable", and "no set-top box".

if that dooesnt work, install wintv6 (not 7, it has its own problems) and scan qam.  if it doesnt pick anything up, then there is something else going on.
