My advice: DON'T BUY THE HDTV WONDER FROM ATI

I have been fighting with this thing for many months now. Installed a new TERK antenna on top of my house, pointed it 305 degrees and the HDTV Blunder only occasionally works. Many dropouts, usually for minutes at a time. Some channels have squares on the screen, others show "NO SIGNAL".

Just to make sure my antenna was OK, I borrowed a Samsung SIR T151 from a friend, hooked it to my projector and surroundsound, and watched an entire evening with zero dropouts. All 6 local stations were perfect. I am only 8 miles from the transmission tower complex.

I have a problem posted to ATI's 'new improved' problem reporting system, and it has been "work in progress" now for 3 weeks. Please don't waste your time and money with these people.

    Otherwise I LOVE MCE 2005!!

    My system:

    MCE 2005
    msi 875P Neo motherboard
    2.6ghz Pentium
    512 MB memory

    RADEON 9800 PRO graphics
    2 - 120 GB SATA disks

    Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 250
ATI HDTV Wonder (for sale cheap)

    Yamaha HTR-5740 surround Sound
    Klipsch surround speakers
    Panasonic AE-700 projector
GOO Systems - 9 foot projection screen (If you have a projector try this stuff - it is GREAT)

A great new budget card that just came out is the Leadtek A6200 TDH. It's only $78 from newegg but they sold out real quick and they're on backorder. The only real difference between this card and the other 6200 cards that are about $50-$70 more is it has a 64bit memory interface instead of 128bit. Don't think this really matters for tvout though.

But also... there's NO FAN on it, just a large heatsink, so it doesn't add any noise to the case.

I just built my new box with this card. The only thing I can't vouch for (although its supported) is its HDTV performance, since I don't have HD yet. I'm just using the SVIDEO out (the dongle has svideo out and component out) and it's running and looking great.

Is anyone using the onboard Intel 900 graphics that come with Intel 915 Northbridge Chipset motherboards?  A buddy of mine has a Sony coming with MCE installed, but it doesn't have a TV tuner.  I wonder if maybe the onboard video can work with the OS, but doesn't have the guts to run and record TV broadcasts.  Gonna go check that MS list now...
