    Can you post the profile or the text contents for this mencoder/divx function. I have never been able to get a WMV from Toolbox on commercial-cut files. TIA!

    I don't have a way to post the file, but I posted the content here:

    Re: DVRMSToolbox: Automated Commercial Detection, Skipping, and much more.

    Dude...this is weird.. I have been using the program for some time now (AWESOME TOOL!!!) and all of a sudden it stoped working on my dvr-ms files but only the ones that are recorded from my cable box or my standard cable connection. It still converts the HDTV recordings to mpegs. When i try to convert a normal recording here is a sample of what i get

    InputFile=L:\Recorded TV\Edited Recordings\Convert to MPEG\BSG - 03x01 - Occupation  Precipice.dvr-ms
    Processing actions, this may take some time!!
    Profile = dvrmstompg
    ProcessId = 1624
    Output DVR-MS file as one MPEG stream
    Conversion Started: L:\Recorded TV\Edited Recordings\Convert to MPEG\BSG - 03x01 - Occupation  Precipice.dvr-ms to L:\Recorded TV\Edited Recordings\Convert to MPEG\BSG - 03x01 - Occupation & Precipice.mpg
    Error in Do Work - ClassFactory cannot supply requested class
    Duration = 00:00:00.6875000

    I get that error message but have no idea what it means. I haven't installed anything on my computer it just stoped workding. Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

    Oh and yes I already tried a re-install and same problem.

    Re: DVRMSToolbox: Automated Commercial Detection, Skipping, and much more.

    I'm confused, and the 58 pages of information are rather difficult to wade through trying to find a solution.  Everything *looks* like it should work, but the end output is not what I'm after.  I want an output file that has the commercials totally removed; what I keep getting is the same damn file I started with!  Ugh.  The Wiki didn't really give much help/information on the matter, so here's the scoop:

    I've got an MCE system hooked up.  For various reasons, I'd like to do the stripping of commercials on this PC instead.  So, I've got DVRMSToolkin installed, along with ShowAnalyzer (which I purchased for $10).  ShowAnalyzer creates an XML file fine on its own, but it doesn't strip the commercials; it just uses an XML file to let you skip them if you're viewing the video on an MCE box, right?  So I run a file through DVRMS and it appears to just bypass the commercial search (or somehow do it amazingly fast), then it splices the unchanged file together and I get nothing useful.

    Arg!  Here's the output log (trying to get rid of commercials at the start and end of a Blues Clues episode for my daughter):

    -----------------------------------------------------
    InputFile=C:\Downloads\Vids\Blue's Clues_NIKP_03_10_2006_10_00_02.dvr-ms

    Maybe DVRMS just isn't supposed to work right on non-MCE?  That might be good information to highlight if it's true.  Still, it seems like everything should work, so maybe I just haven't configured XP Pro properly.  Any help would be great!

    Edit: Not sure why, but after the first several failed runs, it's now working properly. :|

    New version.

    Doesn't work!!!

    Installer crashes with an exception fault. And it's a bad one too... "method not found".

    PS: DVRMS toolbox has never worked for me. The idea is pretty cool but the interface lacks standards, is pretty hookey and it isn't even an MCE tool anyway.

    It's a good attempt but certainly not ready for primetime. I think the author needs to slap a big "ALPHA TEST VERSION" warning on this cuz lets face it... this isn't even ready for beta tests.

    You could always take a smart path and provide feedback and bug reports instead of taking the above path.  Developers work very hard, in there spare time, for free, with little to no prise, for most Media Center applications.  If your not happy with an application, provide the developer with the problem you are having, your system specs, and whatever else the developer would like from you.  If you are not interested in doing this, uninstall the software and let it be.

    People work way to hard to develop applications like this, and I'd challege you to better yourself and to help better the program in question or just to not post.
