Can anyone help me get 5.1 sound? Here is my setup...
1. Motorola DCT-6200.
2. FireSTB loaded, MyTray loaded, sees the tuner, all drivers loaded correctly, configuration done in MyTray and checked in MCE 2005.
3. OS: MCE 2005 with all updates, etc.
4. Using latest WinDVD 7.0 Platinum software/drivers. Also using latest ac3 Filter. Have tried it using both ac3 filter and just using the WinDVD drivers.
5. I DO get 5.1 out in MCE playing DVDs (ripped or from the DVD itself), through both SPDIF and multi-channel out to an external amp/decoder.
6. When I record, I DO get 2 copies of the file - one "normal" and one HD. I can play both inside MCE and with MP 10 outside MCE. However, both recordings play in stereo - the HD one should be 5.1. The HD recording is MUCH larger than the "normal" one, as expected.
7. I am sure the content I am trying to record is 5.1 (I check through my normal HD setup not going through the HTPC). It switches the amp to 5.1 when playing this way.
8. My tuner.log (attached below) shows 6 channel at 48,000 detected.
I am confused. I've searched and searched and cannot find a solution to this. Has anyone encountered the same problem and (more importantly) solved it?
