Is this true? Intel 975 board?

Lately I have been thinking to buy new machine from Ricavision International. They have extensive MCE machine selection and they are fairly cheap for the things you can get. They actually told me to wait until January because they will have this thing...

This is the specs they told me:

PC built with Intel Viiv Technology,

    Intel 975 chipset,

    dual core extreme,

    dual VGA and

5 hard drives capacity for the HD recording.

Does anybody know anything about this, or is it even possible to combine Dual Core Extreme on 975 board and Dual VGA (BTW that will be sweet to see)...

RE: Is this true? Intel 975 board?

Sounds abour right... both Gigabyte and Asus have announced 975 based motherboards with 2 x PCIe x16 and confirmed that a P4 'Presler' EE (dual-core with HT) will be released soon. Things will become clearer in January when Intel are rumoured to be launching ViiV for real.

One thing is for sure, an MCE machine with all that hardware will be a heat monster!

RE: Is this true? Intel 975 board?

Yes, Media Center will then become definitely a cooking device as an added bonus so maybe we should all start thinking about some applications such as "My Steak" with options of Medium, Medium Rare etc.

To go back to the subject. I do know about Gigabyte and Asus, but my issue is with the Viive actually. To try to understand the concept for myself. I heard from Intel that both those companies are not going to be under Viive certification. I believe at least not now for the time beeing. That is why I was so hooked on Ricavision model if it is true what they say that they will provide the real 975 board w/ their MCE. Those companies (Asus, Gigabyte, AOpen) are using micro boards(uATX) and not full atx.  Please correct me if I am wrong...

Viiv machines are supposed to be based on BTX (afaik), so if they are not using BTX it will be "Viiv-like" rather than Viiv branded.

    Cheers,
    Andy

That's not quite right Andy. Intel will launch AXT / MATX ViiV boards before the BTX variants according to http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=27796.

    @ 10 Wizard - I was thinking more 'My BBQ' with options for 5, 10, 20 guests

The fact that Intel have launched the 975 chipset without any Intel branded motherboard product is something I can't figure; the specs for the chipset are more hi-end gamer than MCE / ViiV, so why no product? Are they waiting until January to unveil a 975 ViiV package? Is that what Ricavision will be using?

I'm planning to upgrade my MCE mid-2006, hopefully by then the current muddy ViiV picture will be a whole lot clearer.
