Thanks, timmyDOTcom, tuner.txt is saying it is tracking the tuners correctly.

The channel -v output says you have one 6200 and one 6412,

Unfortuntely, Fleck found a bug with the 6412. MyTray.exe doesn't handle it correctly. You are probably running into this case. In the combobox in the mytray, I would expect you only have 1 number, 5ad39afeffe50c00.

I believe MyTry.exe shows both '5ad39afeffe50c00' & '109aeefeff251200'.

But...

For Tuner 1 only '5ad39afeffe50c00' appears in the drop-down box.
For Tuner 2 only '109aeefeff251200' appears in the drop-down box.

Should both '5ad39afeffe50c00' & '109aeefeff251200' appear in each Tuner 1 & Tuner 2's drop down box, so I can select which tuner is which??

I would guess my problem has to do with the 6412 issue. As soon as you address the 6412 issue, I can test the new MyTray.exe for you and see if this resolves my issue.

I have updated firewire.zip.

1. I believe I have fixed the problem with 6208 and 6412 STBs with media center integration

2. I found a case where I wasn't tracking media centers use of the tuners correctly

MyTray if you open the dialog will also display info about each stb tuner, the channel, livetv/recording, title, time of last action/time of recordng started, file name for recording.

Tim, first and foremost thank you for your hard work.

I downloaded the updated firewire.zip and loaded the mytray.exe.
I saw the display info about each stb tuner, the channel,... etc., selected the uniqueid in the dropdown... but have not been able to change channels with media center.
Now if I load mytray.exe, I don't see any info about tuner, channel, etc. but still can select the uniqueid.

the tuner.log has the following entry (4 times)

Nothing else in those files.

Did you update tunertracker.dll as wekk, the 2 go together?

Just to make sure I removed the devices and reinstalled them using the newest firewire.zip, registered the tunertracker.dll, rebooted, again the 1st time I ran mytray.exe it showed the stb tuner, the channel,... etc.
I selected the uniqueid, clicked ok (mytray.exe dissapears), ran media center, the channel buttons are still "greyed out" and no tuner is detected.

I ran mytray.exe again, no info showed up but the uniqueid was still available in the dropdown.

tuner.log now has the following

Can you also post a small section at the end of tuner.txt as well. Tuner.log is saying it isn't geting anything from tunertracker.dll. Tuner.txt is from tunertracker, tuner.log is from mytray.exe

Thanks, it looks like tunertracker is failing early on, during reseting when media center is starting. I will take a look and add some more logging to try and narrow down the problem.

Ok I tried to install the drives tonight but the AV/C Panel Device driver is not working. In device manager I get an error that it can't start and the driver may be corrupted or missing. I think that I did everything right. I edited the mstape.sys and saved it to mstapeo.sys and placed it the the same directory as meistb files and replace the meistb.ini. The AV/C Tuner works fine it is just the panel device. Any ideas?

Fleck, I have update the firewire.zip file again. I was looking at the code and saw a stupid error which I fixed, along with adding some more tracing if there are other errors.

Nathang, That error means the editing of mstapeo.sys wasn't correct. If you download firewire.zip again, you will find a pointer in the readme to a post on www.avsforum.com where someone has posted the modified driver.

 

Thanks again, the driver works now. I regestered tunertracker.dll and restarted and then loaded mtray and selected the one firewire connection with a tuner but the channel does not change. Also when I close mtray and then reopen it is does not remember the selectio I made, is this correct? Here is the tuner.log. Thanks.

I tried your latest release and it still doesn't change channel in MCE. BUT... it does show both the 6421 & 6200 in both drop down boxes in MyTray.exe now.

Also, if I keep MyTray.exe up, and switch to MCE in another window and I change channels, I can see MyTray.exe tracking the channel changes within MCE, it's just not sending the actual signal to the box to change the channels.

timmyDOTcom, your problem has to be in MyTray but I can't see a problem. so I ended up putting up a new mytray that logs more info into tuner.log.

Can you try again with the new mytray.exe, delete the tuner.log before starting. I only need the output from tuner.log

Nathang, Have you tried using the command line channel.exe?

channel -v D C

with D being the device no of a AV/C Panel obtained from running channel -v

and C being a channel no.

How many stbs do you have and how many are firewire enabled?

The selection in the comboboxs should be remembered, the new mytray will log the reading and writing of this info to the registry now. So can you try the new mytray.exe. Can you delete tuner.log before trying it and post only tuner.log and the output of channel -v

I tried the latest build and same problem. "channel.exe -v D C" works at the command prompt perfectly, but not in MCE. Also, MyTray.exe is not remembering the correct Tuner selections, like flecks.
