RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

I know you have to use some DVD autoring tool for that...
I think the newer versions of Nero have that, and also Cyberlink.
But I have no experience with that, google around for them to find out.

RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

Hmm, something is wrong indeed. What does the convertor say, just before starting conversion? anything stated about pins connecting? Have you modified FilterGraph.xgr?

RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

Try to change "DVR Out - 3" into "DVR Out - 2" within the FilterGraph.xgr (10th line), after that, try again and let me know....

RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

That's odd. So with the old situation, you are getting only audio?
Are you a bit familiar with graphedit tool from microsoft?
If you would try and construct a filter using this method (and using the dump and MpgMux filters in it) what do you get? same result? if you get a better result, you can export your graph using "save as XML", and overwrite FileGraph.xgr with this....

RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

no audio no video, it function nothing !

    i don't be familiar with graphedit !

RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

I meant in the old situation ("DVR Out - 3").
    With this, it's audio only?

    Please download graphedit from here:
    http://files.digital-digest.com/downloads/files/encode/graphedit011008.zip

When starting graphedit, select "Render Media File..." in the file menu. Then, select a DVR-MS file which you wish to convert.
After that, can you select "Save as XML", and attach that file to your reply, so i can see the filter usuage on your system?

RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

Install it! work like a charmed!

You don't know how long I've been looking for something automated like yours, great job!

Some suggestions (I'm sure some or all of these are already on your mind):

    1. add this to a night time schedular.
    2. dump mpg file to a desired folder (option to delete original dvr-ms when done)
    3. Filter base (eg. convert only files with "CSI" in name.

    Keep the great work!!!

RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

    @Bluescreenz:

Can you try again, but with the first FilterGraph.xgr, included within the ZIP file of the program? I have a reason to believe that this might be the problem. (i removed some filters from the file).

    @Pierre:

    Thanks

Most of your points will be addressed in the near future, however, regarding the night time schedular..  i haven't thought about that one. I don't think it's too hard to implement. I'll add it to the wish list. But first things first, I'm working on an improvement of the first version. This new version (1.1), is only a couple of days away from now.

    Excellent.

Heimiko-- I'd really love a command line utility like this that could just take the filenames on the command line. After that, anything else could be easily scripted with batchfiles and the task scheduler.

Or, if you felt like sharing the source, I could certainly whip up a command line version for you

RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

    Nice looking tool.

You may be able to help me here.  Its about commercials.  In theory there is a small period at the start and end of each ad where no data is sent (black screen), I assume you would see this with Graph Edit.

WOuld it be possible to tag these as the start and end of the Commcercial break, allow a step for manual checking, then when its given the Ok, remove and convert to MPG?

    Just dreaming.
