I had some problems with my OEM installed media center, so I decided to get a Media Center CD and install from scratch. That was a while ago and everything when smoothly. I backed-up the activation and the serial number so the install is just like my old one except without all those extra bloat-ware that shipped with it.

Recently I got an HDTV and decided to switch over to the over air Hi-Def. Works great on the TV, but MCE does not let me configure a HD-Tuner. I check the device manager and see that I have 1 unknown device and assume that it is my HD Tuner, since there is no other tuner in the Manager except for the hauppauge card.

I did some research and found that the ATSC tuner is a modified ATI HD Wonder card. I tried to get the ATI drivers from the site, but no luck. I also tried the eHome drivers, since eHome is MCE but that didn't work either.

The HP site has no drivers, just 'updates.'  So that doesn't help at all.

I emailed HP and they told me that the video card is an nVidia and that if I added an ATI Wonder then I should go to the manufacturer for the drivers ... sigh.

I think I might just order the restore CDs hoping they have the drivers and some how get them off. I might end up backing up my install, restoring, extracting the drivers using tools (backup utility does it I think?) and then restoring my install. But that seems like a lot of work for a simple driver.

 

Unless you can find someone with drivers for it, you may be out of luck.
