Any TV Tuner cards w/ Tru2Way coming out?

    Hi all-

I haven't even seen mention of a TV with Tru2Way yet- but was wondering if anyone has heard anything about tuner cards (or USB devices) with Tru2Way cards on their way?

    Thanks!  AL

Its a 'brand' of interactive services over cable.  Also called the Internet? :-) (Sorry, had to have that dig...chuckle)

BOCRs ("tru2way" PC tuners) will not be ready until Windows 7 at the earliest.

That link has more acronyms than I've ever seen!

I'm still hoping it will be sooner than Windows 7. Maybe there will be a dual launch of the DirecTV tuner and True2Way sometime in the next decade.

I was exceited when I first got cable with VOD. After a couple weeks I was over sifting through so much junk just to find something good.

Lets hope that if Obama wins, Biden doesen't stick with pushing his DRM loving ways...

It's basically Cablecard 2.0 that has 2 way communication.  Cable companies hate Cablecard because it's one way- and so they can't push pay-per-view, on demand, or the guide.  And so they want everyone to rent a box for $8/month for each TV you own.  The FTC has been fighting the cable companies to support cable cards.  So, Cable Labs came up with Tru2Way and several months ago, I think it was about 6 of the major CE companies agreed to implement Tru2Way in their TVs.

I've upgraded my main TV to a HDTV, and rent a box for $8/month from Comcast.  But there is no way I'm going to rent 4 more boxes for my additional TVs when I upgrade them to LCD flatscreens!  And I only get a small subset of channels in Clear QAM that I actually pay for!  So, I'm waiting for TVs with Tru2way to arrive...

With that in mind, I'm also hoping that TV Tuner cards with Tru2way also come about someday.  And I hope that the stupid restriction that only entire PCs with cablecard support can be sold is removed.
