MCE RSS Reader 1.1.4 now available

I just published version 1.1.4 of MCE RSS Reader.
You can download it from http://mcerssreader.oabsoftware.nl.

    The latest enhancements are:

    • The setup now includes a number of interesting RSS feeds.
So when you first install MCE RSS Reader, you can start reading news, listening to podcasts and watching vodcasts right away!
    • The support for podcasts and vodcasts was enhanced.
    • The algorithm for determining the date/time at which a message was posted was enhanced.
    • This version does a better job in determining whether an RSS feed contains new messages.
    • A bug was fixed that sometimes crashet the configuration application when defining new feeds.

    Have fun!

RE: MCE RSS Reader 1.1.4 now available

Fantastic Plugin!  I really use it daily.  I am having a little problem with vodcasts.

www.break.com/ipod   is an RSS fee for videos in the MPEG4 format.  I have all the right codecs installed fine and WMP can play them fine.  However, when i select the first video, it plays fine in MCE.  The next video, of any format not just mp4, crashes the progam and MCE completely.  I have tried many different things and the result is always the same.  It's as if the video, once played, is not completely purged prior to starting another video.

Oddly, vodcasts in the WMA format play fine in consecutive plays.

    Thanks for a great plugin.

Re: MCE RSS Reader 1.1.4 now available

I am having a problem getting RSS reader to update my feeds. I have set up Media Center to open on startup, and I think this may be the problem. The RSS server program doesn't seem to start in the background.

If I just open up windows, or at any time close down Media Center, then I get the server start and it finds the feeds okay.

I thought forcing the program to start by putting it into the Start Up folder would work, however this seems to have caused a WindowsFormsParking error on shutdown. So I have removed it from that folder, and all seems well again.

I also have OAB's Mail program and that works fine.

So any ideas how to force RSS reader server to start when Media Center opens from startup?
