Does anyone know if it is possible to view CBR/CBZ comic book files within VMC? 

(CBR/CBZ files are scans of comic book pages (jpgs) rarred or zipped together and the extention renamed for use with a comic book viewer.)

If they are jpg files (just picture files), I am sure they can be done to show up in the picture library but, if they are zipped together, no I don't think so. You would have to extract the images, then put them in folders to view them.

Unless someone makes a 3rd party plugin...

I'm not a programmer but would love this as a plugin.  You would basically need a plugin that is able to uncompress a .CBZ (Zip File) or a .CBR (RAR File) and view that file as a folder so that the the images stay in order.  It would be nice if it's written in MCML also that it's available on extenders also.

spplutchok is right, most .cbr/.cbz are zipped .jpg 's.

I'll 3rd this. There was one for MCE2005 that's nowhere to be found nowadays.

Dumb question but why not just unzip them and use the photo library.  Create a structure like this and it should work just fine.

   Comics
         Batman
               Issue #657, extract jpg's to this folder.. you could then watch it in a slideshow format or using the arrow  keys on the remote naviage the pages.

If there was a program for MCE 2005 and you can find it, it should work on Vista MC.....most apps work fine (TV pack is another story tho)
