No matter what it dont seem to get any better.  I use the hauppauge tweak tool and multiple drivers. Also seems to be same quiality in Vista as MCE 2005.  Media Portal gives me a little better quaility but not much.  Here is a screenshot of how it looks.

what mpeg 2 decoder are you using?

How much ram do you have? More than 3 giggs will cause this problem.

i have 1.75Gb of ram also using the nvidia decoder. and in vista was using whatever the default one was.

Make sure that your sharpness and noise reudction setting are off in the nvidia control panel.

I vaguely recall a thread sometime ago about changing settings for the Hauppauge cards that improved the picture, I think there was a little application that you could run, to make the changes
