My website is still in the works..but now i have updated it with some screenshots. As for channels the plugin uses www.wwitv.com database of channels. There are thousands of mainstream channels available from all over the world.

    please send me feedback,

    Thanks,

    Makarand

Superb utility, thanks for all your hard work.

Is there any way to change aspect ratio from 4.3 to widescreen as the usual method in mce does not work when viewing via this method.

    Regards

This is fantastic... Well done!!! Cool [H]

I would add to the posts above, would it be possible to have a method to delete entries in the recently used list?

    Keep up the good work!!

Rich, Thanks for the kind words!

about recently used - I maintain last 20 channels in the "recently used" list. This was my quick and dirty implementation of "Favorites" :) I guess more than ability to delete recently used - you want real Favorites category, wherein you could add favorite channels right? if so Yep..this is on my list for next release. if not - is there any other reason you want to delete the recently used entries?

    thanks

Re: Introducing MiraWorldTV - Vista MCE plugin to watch worldTV.

    Stew/James, thanks for noticing this.

I think the zoom control ( info / zoom) does not work on these videos because i am using MCML Video element in a non-full screen mode. i tried moving it to full screen mode but then now it requires an extra "back" button to get back to menu. I like the current menu structure where it doesnt involve page navigation to change the channnel. I am kind of struggling to keep easy navigation and use video in full screen mode at the same time -  any MCML experts out there who can help here.

    Thanks,

    Makarand

Fantastic program, worked first time around.  I really like the user interface and the simplicity of navigating back to the country menu.  Editing the favorites would be nice, but I'd encourage keeping the interface simple. Great easy to use program, I'd recommend it for all Vista users!

This is an awesome application.  Thank you so much.  I lived in Chile for 2 years and it is awesome to be able to see some Chilean TV shows on the TV? :D

Re: Introducing MiraWorldTV - Vista MCE plugin to watch worldTV.

Hey Makarand, great program, thanks for letting us know about it.

I know its not done, and early etc, but here is some feedback:

    1. The list of countries/channels is kinda ugly (hmm, really ugly). I don't know how hard it is, but as much as possibile I think you should just copy existing MCE stuff, I don't want my plugins to look different, I want a seamless experience (which is meant to be one of the benefits of MCML)

    2. I can't scroll quickly through the list of countries/channels, when I hold down the arrow on the remote it just freezes up and then jumps way ahead, when I expected it to scroll quickly through like the MCE guide

    3. When I am watching a show, if i press BACK, I expected to be taken to the list of channels, instead I am taken to the list of countries

    4. Starting to watch a channel takes a long time... it'd be nice if I could keep browsing the channels, or keep watching the current show while I wait for it

    5. I think you should make your video element full screen.. Then perhaps do an overlay guide like MCE, or perhaps do the up/down arrows (isntead of channels) to let peopel browse the guide when watching a channel (like MCE).

    6. I couldn't find the icon to launch the app at first - it'd be nice if it was on the left of the TV bar, like how my Adobe PHotoshop photos plug in is on the left of the photos bar

    7. is it possible to display what is playing on each channel at the moment? or get guide data?

    8. When I press stop, I expected to be returned to the guide like in MCE, instead the video just stopped.

Re: Introducing MiraWorldTV - Vista MCE plugin to watch worldTV.

Thanks for great feedback Noirs, I am still learning MCM, and hoping to resolve some of the issues you mentioned soon.

about #3 and #4 - Have you noticed that you can hit LEFT or ENTER button, and it will take you back to the channels menu? I know its bit confusing that from channels to contries requires "back button" but from video to Channel it requires "ENTER" or "LEFT" for the V2 i am trying to get rid of page navigation alltogether so no need for Back button.

Re: Introducing MiraWorldTV - Vista MCE plugin to watch worldTV.

Personally, I'd stick with using the 'Back' button - it always pays to keep your interface consisitent with what Windows Media Center uses, so people don't have to learn a new interface style.

With Windows Media Center, you have a choice. You can either

        a) have pretty overlays over your video (eg. the name of the channel you are changing too) OR

       b) you can have it working properly with the zoom buttons.

There's really nothing in-between, since you can't make a pretty overlay when Media Center is playing the video in it's normal fullscreen style. Don't worry - every other developer who has worked in MCML has also gone 'well why don't they let me do overlays?' - the answer is always 'Because we didn't'.

It MAY be possible to dynamically resize your Video element (have a property of type Vector3, and bind that to your video's Scale property). Then when a particular key/button is pressed, you can make it resize the video appropriately.

I don't mean to pre-empt the response from the author, but there's a couple of points I want to make.

Guide data would be VERY difficult. I don't really expect to see that any time soon, since the website (and sometimes the video streams themselves) simply don't publish this information.

The scrolling problem is something inherent in Windows Media Center. [ Hint for the Author: You can SOMETIMES resolve it with the 'Prefetch' property of you Scroller] but sometimes it's just something that happens with Media Center addins...I know it's VERY annoying (exactly the same thing happens in EMUCenter) but for the moment we are kinda stuck with it
