    Hi Guys,

I just downloaded this and have to say this is fantastic, it's exactly what I was looking for and I wanted to say thanks for all the hard work.

I do have a question though, I see that there are parental controls but I haven't figured out how to work them yet...is there a way to password protect R rated movies?

    Thanks!

I'm not sure if TV Pack is supported yet, but have you imported all of your movies into the Database editor yet? If so, I believe they should show up.

According to the google code site, it should work.

At the moment I only have 2 movies, but I used the database editor to add them.

Is there a limit to how many icons can be put on a strip? I have the Olympics plugin by tvtonic installed, it is in the location where i believe the OML icon should be. Could that be causing the issue? Does anybody else have both installed?

    Thanks

Oh, you mean you can't even get to it in VMC. I thought your movies weren't showing up in OML.

You can try going to program library under online media. If it shows up there, right click (or hit information) and hit add to start menu.

If this doesn't  work, you can always try manually adding it with Menu Mender. Here's the latest one: http://rapidshare.com/files/139002198/MC_Menu_Mender_0.4.1.msi which works with TV Feature Pack 2008.

Does anyone know if it's possible to ignore certain prefixes like "the" and "a" during sorting?

For example, I just added a movie, "The Hunt For Red October", I was looking for it under H, but I found it under T.

Nice - MC Menu Mender did the trick. Thank you for your help!

In the DB Editor (in your start menu under OpenMediaLibrary) you should see a title and a sort title for each entry.

Re: Open Media Library - souce posted

Hey guys. I just installed OML on my Vista x64 install and I get sound from the movies but no picture. When I use My Movies plugin everything works fine. When I play a movie from OML no picture. The movies im trying to play are on a server on the network. Each movie has its own folder and has been ripped in regular DVD TS format. After installing OML I opened My Movies XML file to get my DVD info. What am I doing wrong? Please help. Thanks.

Tiny update, 0.21b will be going online in the next few minutes.  It basically rolls in the mymovies date format bug with the rest of the plugin.  So, if you already grabbed it then don't bother with this.  We're currently playing with an alpha meta-data plugin so it looks like that will be one of the next items coming down the pike.  taranu (as many would expect) is heading up that front, I'm going to spend some quality time with unit tests cleaning things up and getting to the bottom of these "random" video_ts,dvd,bluray,hddvd issues.  I say random because we're getting reports of it working for some and not for others.

Oops, I mistook this post to mean that this incremental update fixed not only the date format bug but also the bug where it doesn't pick up DVR-MS files if you just point to the folder in the MyMovies database.  So, silly me, I deleted the OML database that I painstakingly updated to point at each and every file in order to import a newer version of my MyMovies database.  Now, none of the movies are loading.

Before I cuss at myself for an hour while repointing each of these files, could you tell me if the next version will fix this?  If so, I'll just wait.

Some might suggest I simply update the MyMovies database to point at the files so I wouldn't have this problem, but I like the functionality and ease of just pointing at folders.

Is there a mailing list for this app? It'd be great to have a development mailing list like many other OSS apps. nHibernate has one for "how do I use this?" and another that is strictly related to development efforts - bug discussions, roadmaps, object model, etc.

Re: Open Media Library - souce posted

    Hi,

My current setup is the video library and for most (but not all) movies I have a related .jpg DVD cover.  Movies are AVI, MP4 and MKV's.

What Im wondering is if Movie Collectorz or MyMovies is better for doing the meta data collection?  Preferably the program will scan my movies folder, and try to get the details for the movie, then if its unsure bring up a list where I can pick the correct one.

IIRC My Movies wants everything in a seperate folder to work correctly, and you need to manually point to the folder for each movie, EG a complete pain in the ass.

I have ~150 movies currently so I really dont want a cumbersome system.

Re: Open Media Library - souce posted

Hi all. I have a strange problem. Using OML I can play the movies within Windows on Vista Media Center, however when I attempt this via the Xbox 360 using Vista Media Center, it flatly refuses to play anything..coming up with the usual..unable to play content etc.

I have Vista 64. Anyone got the same setup and able to get it working? If so..how did you do it, thanks.

Re: Open Media Library - souce posted

Currently, yes, you should use some other service to really manage your collection. OML doesn't yet have the database element finalized and don't have movie database built up like the other applications.

OML is still a system to test with and provide feedback and bug reports.  It isn't ready to replace MM or the other tools for managing your collection. (it is still an early, but impressive, beta after all).

    Hi,

The Amazon scraper works great except for one thing.

When importing any movie, just about all of them have (widescreen version), (UMD for PSP) (Blu-Ray) Ect after them.  It would be really good if the scraper could remove those tags in the title.

And also to be able to run through all your movies.

I presume its no where near finished seeing as though its just appeared, just giving some ideas for what to add/improve in it.
