    Playing Blu Ray in WMC?

So I have used AnyDVD to backup a Blu Ray disk to my hard drive (don't worry, it's a disk I own.)  I would like to use the My Movies plug in and add it to my content collection, then use WMC to play it on my HDTV.  Can I do this, and if so, how?  I have 64 bit vista.

    My VMC set-up:

HP Pavilion Slim s3430f AMD Phenom 9100e Quad Core, 4GB, 500GB, SATA DVDRW LS-RAM/Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Player, Flash, Tuner, NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT, Wireless, Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP1, Vizio 47" LCD HDTV, XBox 360

First you will need Blu-ray software.  Are you running 32 or 64 bit Vista?  I'm asking because your options are different.  PowerDVD is the most popular but they removed the ability to play Blu-ray from disk.  You will need to create an ISO and then mount using a virtual disc device driver software (I recommend Virtual CD Clone, x64 beta was recently released).  ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre on the other hand allows you to play Blu-ray from disk and even comes with a Media Center plug-in; however, it is 32-bit only.

If you do need to go the ISO route I would highly recommend using ImgBurn to create the ISOs.  It is bloatfree freeware and works well with AnyDVD HD.

My Vista is 64 bit.  I own PowerDVD Ultra 8.

Right now I can play Blu Ray disks from my HD.

So getting it to play through WMC is a big process, huh?  Damn.

I'm interested to know as well.  I was under the impression that they removed that functionality, I'll be glad to be wrong.

Re: Playing Blu Ray in WMC?

I just use media player classic to play blue ray movies that are on my hard drive. It seems to be by far the best player for that on my system.
