IRTrans plugin not working in FrontView v4

    Hi all,

I've spent a considerable amount of time trying to resolve this issue but without success so I'm hoping somebody here can help out.

I have an Origenae S16V which uses the IRTrans VFD module. I would dearly love to use Frontview4 but when I drop the IRTrans .dll into the displays folder in the FV installation, it isn't recognised (ie - just doesn't show up) in the FV configuration application. If I install version 3 of FV, it works with this (but v3 doesn't have the functionality I want).

Has anybody got this working with version 4 of FV or is it the case that the IRTrans module is not supported? The media centre magic web site doesn't make this clear and actually directs people to this forum for support (which I thought was a little cheeky but there you go).

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Gavin

    Rich,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I'm already using IRTrans but it doesn't give you much control over what is actually displayed on the VFD which is why I've been looking at FrontView. It would seem that IRTrans provide a plugin for FV so that the two can work together (I presume) but I have so far been unable to get it working with the latest version of FV.

How do you find IRTrans? In my experience so far, I'm not overly impressed as it seems a little flaky to say the least.

    Cheers,
    Gavin

Re: IRTrans plugin not working in FrontView v4

I quite like IRTrans and its certainly pretty reliable on my system.  I know it isnt as configurable as FrontView (I used v3 a few years ago) but it does the basics for me.  I guess the main thing lacking is it doesnt show any DVD info like FrontView did.  However the display is a complete waste of time for me as I sit 7 feet away so I cant even see whats on the display!! Smile [:)]  (or is that my age now I have reached 37!?).  My next case wont have any display on it.

Re: IRTrans plugin not working in FrontView v4

I have the Origen S16V with IRTrans and VFD, but I still use a Microsoft IR receiver for 'triple-tap' support and to ensure my HTPC doesn't shutdown when I pause live TV too long

I'd like to try Frontview, but I can only find a link to v4 which the OP explained won't work with IRTrans.  Does anyone have a link to a Frontview v3 download, please?
