AVerMedia AVerTV Combo PCIe QAM HD Channel Lineup

For those of you rejoicing over the QAM plugin for the avermedia tuner card but hate the fact that you have to manually download the guide every time and then go back and re-enter your channel lineup, I have a solution. Please excuse me if this has already been posted but I couldn't find it anywhere and thought it would be helpful. Here are the steps:

    1. When you use your AverMedia QAM tool before you export rename your channels EXACTLY how they appear on zaptoit.com. That is for me, NBC is labeled WTHRDT in Bloomington. Now Export.

    2. Follow the provided pdf as normal but when you get to select your cable options, choose the digital cable option (even though you don't have digital cable).

    3. Now you will probably have hundreds of channels that don't work so go to tasks > tv > guide > edit channels and select clear all. Now go through and auto find the channels. If you named your channels properly in the QAM tool then it should come across the digital channel called the same thing (in my case WTHRDT) and say it found that channel.

    4. Auto guide downloads will not remove this and it will have the schedule for the HD channel.

I can confirm this works, I was doing something similar.

I was downloading digital guide data, obtaining the channel names as they appear in Media Center, and entering these in the QAM tool and then exporting them to Media Center. When deleting the Enable-DT channel as per the instructions it associates all of the guide data to the qam channels automatically, then I remove all of the digital channels I cant receive without the cable box.
