Remind Me for MCE (Update 6-15-08)

Remind Me for MCE does just what the name says. Another free program that lets you create reminders in Media Center that will alert you at the time you choose. For more info please go to the following link.

    http://mcezone.com/products.php

    (Update 5-15-08)
    Import Outlook 2003 appointments.

    (Update 5-17-08)
    Import Outlook 2007 appointments.

    (Update 6-15-08)
You can now create recurring events.

If anyone is using Outlook prior to 2003, please let me know if you are able to import your appointments. I only have Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 so I cannot test the earlier versions. I’m also looking for feedback from Vista 64bit users. I need to know if Remind Me is installing and working correctly since I only have a Vista 32bit system.

    Re: Remind Me for MCE

I haven't installed it yet, but it sounds good.

Does this use a local database or Outlook 'Tasks' ?

    Re: Remind Me for MCE

I've installed this, and it works nicely. Not that you are asking for suggestions, but I would find it more useful if the following features were added:

    1. synch with outlook (not necessary for me, but could be useful for some)
    2. Set an even and have multiple reminders.
      1. ie: I have a dentist appointment, remind me 2 days before and then 2 hours before (currently i have to set up multiple reminders, which makes sense since this isn't an events plugin, but a reminders plugin)
    3. Repeating reminders (yearly, monthy, weekly, daily, etc) Would be great for Bdays and such :D
I think that's it.... I don't expect them to be added, and its a great plugin as it is, but i thought I would offer a few suggestions :)

    It uses a local setup.

This is the first release so I am sure I will come up with new features as time goes on. I had to build the Calendar from scratch, which was very difficult but it turned out great. I feel it is always best to start out with something basic then build a little at a time.

I 100% agree with you :). I tend to do the same when I write stuff. If you ever need someone to help you test your stuff out, let me know. I've got 2 VMCs i can test stuff on for you if you ever need it.

Another addition to this program would be a link with the guide so you can have show and movie reminders.  I also agree with SirMeili, a sync with Outlook would be a great addition.

Baquan, will it support the latest Outlook or is 2003 the only one being supported right now?

Great App by the way, thanks.     Also, is there anyway to link this app to the Guide for TV show and movie reminders?

Support for Outlook 2007 has been added. Sorry you can only enter new reminders or link to Outlook.

Baquan are you able to have reminders repeat yearly, monthy, weekly or daily or do you have to setup individual reminders for every event even if its the same event each week?
