Re: video library app for viewing videos/movies and tv episodes with metadata

    1. I'll have to re-evaluate how I download season banners/images because I checked the raw xml for Mission Erde and there are NO "de" season banners --they are all English. I might have have a fall back to search the cache for images but ignore languages.

    2. For your kim possible series, what is in the .series.xml <Status> tag?

UPDATE: I just simulated the folder structure and file names and saw the following error in the <Status> tag:

"Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: '01-22' Key being added: '01-22' "

This error is the same error in Issue #6 mentioned above. I confirmed on thetvdb.com that there are 3 entries for season 1's episode 22 listed on the site  I'll have to update the code to add more error-checking to account for this....

    VP.Mic:
    Two small issues, though:

    1. When german language is selected, season banners are not fetched (mostly).
It's working for Desperate Housewives and Outer Limits (don't see any reason for that)

    2. Fetching Data
Kim Possible doesn't work at all (german and english)
The data is fetched, when "find series info" is selected, but the button "Browse episodes" is missing, so I can't watch.

    File Structure:
    Kim Possible > Season 1 >Kim Possible - s01e14 - Halloween (October 31st)

    Anyway, I love it!

Re: video library app for viewing videos/movies and tv episodes with metadata

    ad 1.

Don't know if this is a langugae issue.
    Here are my series:

Heroes (german title Heroes)   > not working
Desperate Housewives (german dito) > working
Lost (german dito) > not working
Sliders (german dito) > not working
Outer Limits (german dito) > working
Earth final conflict (german: Mission Erde) > not working

So even exactly named series are not fetched.

Update: You are right. Desp. Housewives has a geramn flag on the cover.

    ad 2.

That's exactly what is in the file.

    vp.mic,

I'll have an update to both issues tonight around 9PM EDT.

Edit:  Actually make that sometime tomorrow for a new build. I want to add in the genres and cast, director, actors, etc. info while I'm at it. I have code and confirmed both issues are now fixed.

v.1.24 uploaded. vp.mic, can you delete your metadata and try again using the new version? Please confirm that your two issues are indeed fixed. Thanks,

    Change Log

    A. Changes
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    version v1.24
    1. New! - Updates to reflect additions to TMDB's API. Now includes directors, producers,
writers, and actors. Studio is still pending

    2. Fix  - Added additional code to check for duplicate seasons and/or episodes.
There appears to be a data issue on thetvdb.com that was causing the follow error:
"Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: '01-22'  Key being added: '01-22'"
For example, in the Vicar of Dibley, there are duplicate seasons with some having
              multiple instances of episode 99.

    3. Fix  - Season covers were not being downloaded if the series does not have covers
in the same language as the series. In cases like this, the app will now default to English covers

Re: video library app for viewing videos/movies and tv episodes with metadata

    Confirmed!

Everything is working now as it should.

Noticed, that, when you "find series info" the first page has a codeset issue. Doesn't matter, since on the final screens these characters are displayed fine.

    Thank you so much

Re: video library app for viewing videos/movies and tv episodes with metadata

    Hi, a newbie question.

Is there some setting I can change to be able to use folder names with "." instead of " "  ?

For eample Prision.Break or CSi.Miami , reason Iwant this it that I have a script that download stuff automaticly but it can't handle paths with spaces in them.

Re: video library app for viewing videos/movies and tv episodes with metadata

    Orrighty,

Li'l bit of bug reporting from me.

First off, I LOVE the fanart as thumbnails.  Pity there's not more ways to be able to view it (I run cover mode).

I don't appear to be able to get any Movie matches on anything with an apostrophe in the title.  I can add the <ID> field and it populates OK, but it seems to miss anything with the apostrophe.

I have a couple of movies that don't seem to want to download metdata.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army.  It gets as far as downloading the runtime and the ID(this displays in the details page), but that's about all.  The status in the XML is:

<Status>Object reference not set to an instance of an object.</Status>

Seems this was because there was no Genre set in tmdb, updated and now works great.  Was also the issue with the others that wouldn't download completely...

    Cheers,

    Schlep. :D

Thanks for the rerport, Schelp, I'll look at it tonight ...more likely tomorrow night. So I can simulate the file, what was the exact filename you have for hellboy 2?

    Thanks

Re: video library app for viewing videos/movies and tv episodes with metadata

Hello! Been a while sisnce i has posted on here! Still a major user of your app and i honestly have to say that it is REALLY the most used app on my VMCE all together! Thats including all other standard apps on the machine!!!

There is one thing i hae noticed and i think already exsists but i just cant find it! I was looking at the meta data xml and noticed a "watched" section which always seems to be set to false.

This brings me back to the feature i would really like (but cant find) and would guess exsists(due to it being in the meta data?). Basically, its a menu that lists all the unwatched/new episodes/movies that have been added for easy access to the new stuff. (newly aquired stuff)

I seem to find that i have so much new stuff each week, that i can never remember what i have to watch!!! Is this a feature that exists and i am being blind to or... is it something that could be thought about and considered for a next realease?

Thanks for everything in this app!!!

    Cheers

Re: video library app for viewing videos/movies and tv episodes with metadata

this would be a new feature. I'd have to seriously think about this because, this app is folder-based and finding all unwatched would require a db or someother way to *quickly* query the data. More thought required...

What about just adding something to each episode to say whether it has been watched or not?

Re: video library app for viewing videos/movies and tv episodes with metadata

Ah! I never really thought about that! It would take a lifetime to go through all XML meta data files to work it out wouldnt it!There would have to be like you say; some kind of central file/index/database for it to work with any sort of speed!

Or perhaps it would just be something slow that would take a bit of time checking that watched - true/false tag in the XML? Maybe then, to speed things up for next access, it saves all of the unwatched episodes it has found to one "central XML". Then when you access that menu again, it displays all of those from the "central XML" and does a background scan for any new unwatched episodes, displays them on the fly and also adds them to the "central XML"?

I think that makes some kind of sense?!

Not the best and fastest way to do things I'm sure, but  may be a way to do it?

mytv has watched and unwatchwd but not near as fast or good looking app.

I say if u are going to do it make it optional don't slow it down for everyone I love the speed and look of your app would hate for it to slow down that means it would really slow down on the extenders.

Re: video library app for viewing videos/movies and tv episodes with metadata

How do you get video_ts folders to play? They show up in the library, but when I press play nothing happens. The video box in the lower left corner pops up but it does nothing. When I click on the box, there are some options like title menu, restart, resume, etc. Clicking on those does nothing.

Basically, can someone tell me how to get video_ts folders to play?

Also, some metadata gets downloaded but it is not reflected in the library.

This application is awesome, by the way. Thanks.
