There are registry entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\vmcNetFlix.  It defaults to max stream at 1500Kbps and max download at 5000Kbps.  Thought is that I'd make config/settings options later to adjust these, but in the mean time they can be modified by hand.

I didn't get a license page. I have previously viewed WatchNow movies on my PC through IE.

I've replied twice, but it hasn't shown up yet ... strange???  I'll try to answer differently than before.

There are values stored in the software section of the registry for vmcNetFlix ... one is for Streaming which defaults to a max of 1500Kbps, the other is for downloads with a max of 5000Kbps.  I figured I'd write some config option later to adjust these within the application. You'll have to manually change them for now.

Re: New vmcNetFlix Add-In for Vista Media Center

I installed the application and it ran the first time to allow me to enter my neflix account data.  Now when I run it it launches to the Neflix shipping picture and then I get an error that the application can not run.  I am running Vista Ultimate with SP1.  I also have the other Neflix add-on and it works fine.

I did a Repair on the install, but still same problem.

    Ideas?

Just as a test, can you run it with UAC (User Access Control) turned off.  This would be in Control Panel->User Accounts.

I just verified that Vista x64 won't run w/o this turned off due where I'm storing some of the registry entries.  I wonder if SP1 has some of the same issues.

Did you ever find out if the download work though the extender?

Re: New vmcNetFlix Add-In for Vista Media Center

I tried it with my 360 and DMA2100 and this is what I got:

    Cannot Play Video

The file type is not recognized and cannot be played. Either the correct codec (a file that compresses/decompresses audio or video) is not installed or the file is corrupt.

I tried this with a video that I was in the middle of downloading. It was about 18% done but I will try to play it again once it finishes and post back.

Re: New vmcNetFlix Add-In for Vista Media Center

The download just finished and I went to try and play it and I got the following error on the 360:

    License Unavailable

Windows Media Center Extender cannot find a license to play this content. Return to your computer to acquire a license for this content.

I went to my computer to play it and it worked perfectly. Came back to my 360 and tried again and got the same error as above.

I can't get the license to work so I can't get past the license issue on my 360.  I am assuming that if I did get it working on the PC it would still not work based on the previous post.

Sounds like an issue with the DRM in the file, I'm not suprised.

Are you having a license issue on your PC?  Do you have the netflix player loaded on your PC?

Re: New vmcNetFlix Add-In for Vista Media Center

I turned off UAC.  I uninstalled and reinstalled.  I deleted the reg entries.  Still can't get the application to work.  The application launches.  It then says it can't log on.  I get the log on page.  I then select on screen keyboard.  I start to click on letters on the screen and I get the error that it can't launch vmcnetflix application.  I do have my primary drive labeled "H" instead of "C".  Is there any hard coding in your application to "C"?

Any other ideas for me to try?

I have Vista Ultimate with SP1.  I do have the netflix viewer installed.  The other VMC netflix add-ons work fine.
